  1. agreed Double-agreed If you just have to shell out some cash for it that's only one componenent of the so-called white whale. It's gotta be rare enough that you don't see it all the time.
  2. I didn't mean to imply you were an elitist audio snob (Kyle) or anything I think you have really nice setup. I was referring to your equipment and the reference to the lead shot filled table legs and the acrylic sound dampener thing it's all really awesome. I'm not quite there yet but I think my next step is building a tube amp.
  3. I heard Hearattack might be collected in a giant book anyone else heard this rumor? Oh and what's the deal with cats?
  4. "Life of Pi" by Yann Martel. Religion, a tiger in a boat & survival it's great so far. I also just got an order from Microcosm and read "Welcome to the Dahl House" and "Snakepit 2007" I tend to meander a bit between several books at a time also I don't know why but I have a book at home one at work and another by the toilet. Ok quick Toilet book go! Cometbus #51
  5. I could easily find myself getting carried away with some of this stuff but then I realize that I probably don't need to spend thousands of dollars to listen to, oh I don't know a Future Virgins 7". Not to take away from your setup there, it's amazing. If I had the means I'd do it, for now though I think I'll just look and salivate. How long has it taken you to put all that together?
  6. Vegan pot pie! Made it tonight it's delicious!
  7. did the acrylic looking thing under the table come with it or is that your creation?
  8. I've had meatless Turbaconducken, I can't even tell the difference.
  9. Yeah I put on The Bananas "Forbidden Fruit" yesterday labeled "45 RPM" only to discover it was a lie.
  10. if you're running windows and have an iphone, iringer is the cat's pajamas. Otherwise audacity is pretty rad.
  11. Discount stuff is pretty scarce, I feel lucky to have found the collection cd's.
  12. I never even knew this existed. No I get to go try and download it.
  13. That is the thrill of all thrills. I feel like ebay ruins collecting in a way you just shell out the dough because everything's right there. Are there any distros who still have the Discount split? I feel like I used to see it everywhere and now it's gone.
  14. Put this on your toast http://cgi.ebay.com/Beck-Glut-J-Church-Phantom-Pegnancies-We-Are-Bacteria_W0QQitemZ400004273962QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMusic_on_Vinyl?hash=item400004273962&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2|65%3A3|39%3A1|240%3A1318
  15. I'm working on a J Church Collection myself, there are quite a few of the ones your looking for on ebay right now. Also Midheaven.com if it even needs to be said.

  17. Put in whatever you want, this particular recipe is vegan. (I'm not, I just think it's good) So let's have your recipes I want to make a different batch this week.
  18. I believe tables without a built in pre-amp have a ground wire to eliminate RF noise picked up from nearby devices. I've had 4 different tables and the ones with the preamps didn't have a ground so I'd imagine it's internally grounded through the pre-amp. My receiver has a little thumbscrew on the back for this purpose but it doesn't have to be real elaborate I've seen a table grounded by a thumb tack and it didn't sound noisy or anything.
  19. I made some for my friend's birthday yesterday and everyone loved it. Endlessly modifiable, cheap and delicious.
  20. Some record players have pre-amps built in most nicer ones don't. Older stereo receivers have a phono input with built in pre-amp but since most "receivers" nowadays are just home theater systems or bookshelf systems they don't. For me it's just convenience, most audiophiles opt for the separate dedicated pre-amp and amplifier, all tube mind you, this would be my ideal setup just hasn't happened yet.
  21. Onion Garlic 2 Cans Pinto Beans 2 Cans Tomato Paste 1 Can Corn 2 Cans Black Beans 2 Cans Diced Tomatoes 1 Can Green Chiles 1 Can Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Sauce 1 Packet Taco Seasoning (Taco Bell brand) 1 Package of Soyrizo Saute the onions and garlic in some olive oil, add soyrizo and cook some of the moisture out. add everything else except the chipotle peppers. These peppers are pretty hot so only use a couple if your wary or leave them out altogether. I use scissors to chop them into little pieces. Simmer it for a bit and enjoy!
