  1. Any other Squeeze fans on VC? For their upcoming US tour, they're releasing a live 2LP recorded at the Fillmore in 2010 on their Spot The Difference Tour. WHAT YOU GET: Limited Edition White Vinyl 2LP "Live at the Fillmore" (**ONLY 3000 copies pressed**) "Live at the Fillmore" Download Card (20 Mp3 Downloads) "Spot The Difference" Tour Poster Squeeze Sticker FOR $25 (+$3 shipping) You can pick it up at any of their tour dates, or on their official website right now at http://www.squeezeofficial.com/. Is anybody catching them on the US tour? I was really hoping to make it to their gig with the English Beat at Ram's Head in Baltimore, but it sold out way sooner than I expected, so I missed out.
  2. That's the price that stores pay. Retail is $25. Ah, good to know--thanks!
  3. I don't think this has been posted yet... Devo just posted a link with info from RedEye's catalog regarding their Live in Seattle RSD release: http://devo-obsesso.com/html/paper-itempages/documents/redeye_catalog-rsd-2012.html Only $16.65 for two 12" LPs and two 12" posters--not too bad!
  4. Great pictures! I've really been wanting to get into herping lately. Definitely a bold move getting so intimate with a copperhead!
  5. Yeah, I have had a cart full of things amounting to $28 for a few days now, and I just went to place my order, but all of the prices have risen such that my cart now amounts to $60... Ah, well.
  6. Mine also arrived today. I just dropped the needle on it--sounds good!
  7. Waterloo and End of an Ear are my go-to record stores when I'm in Austin, but there are tons of them there. All of the record stores hand out pamphlets with a map of all of the other stores in Austin that carry vinyl and a brief description of each store, which gets dangerous! You should also stop at a Half Price Books or two. Or four... I have made some great vinyl/cassette/CD finds here, and there are easily a dozen+ of them between Dallas and San Antonio. If your godson likes dinosaurs, the museum at UT Austin has a nice little hall of paleontology with mostly local fossils of all kinds of organisms, including some dinosaurs. You could probably make it through the whole museum in under an hour. Also, if you like being outside, there are plenty of dinosaur track sites that are open to the public between Dallas and San Antonio. If you take a little detour from Austin to San Antonio through Blanco, TX, there is a spot in the Blanco River with DOZENS of sauropod dinosaur tracks. You have to walk downstream a bit to get to them, but it's really shallow water (usually), and it is a really gorgeous area! Last time I was there, we encountered some turtles in the shallow water. Also, at the San Antonio Rivercenter mall, there is an attraction called Dinosaur-Quest that's essentially a walk-through "museum" of full-sized dinosaur fossil replicas with documentaries playing on a few TVs and absurd-colored lights illuminating the fossil mounts... You can PM me if the dinosaur stuff is at all interesting to you, and I'll give you more detailed info... If not, sorry for blathering on! Near Austin, there is also a place called Hamilton Pool, which is small natural pool formed by the collapsing of a limestone roof over an underground stream, so there is a small waterfall that feeds water into the pool, and a lush stream system that drains from the pool. There's a gorgeous half-mile walk down the the pool, and the pool itself is awesome. There is a little sand beach, and you can swim in the water if conditions are right (though it may still be too cool for this in March... though, it is Texas, so maybe not!), and there is a cave path around the pool. It's a really pretty area. There are a lot of other great places to hike around Austin. I haven't made it to Enchanted Rock yet myself, but I've heard great things about it. In San Antonio, SeaWorld is great (though pricey), and the zoo is fantastic (less pricey than SeaWorld). Eat on the Riverwalk! I hope this helps! I love it down there.
  8. I'd like to avoid import prices, but it may have to come to that.
  9. Yeah, I've been regularly looking at about every record store around Maryland and in Austin, TX for a while now. I'm growing kind of weary of the search, ha. I did recently find a copy of the CD, which is tiding me over, but I'd really like to be able to spin it on vinyl!
  10. I'm looking for a copy of Labyrinth: The Original Soundtrack of the Jim Henson Film on vinyl. This seems to be pretty hard to come by. I've never seen it in a record store, and sellers typically set the starting bid super high whenever they pop up on eBay. It seems that the Japanese pressing is more common than the US pressing. Anybody within the US have a copy of this they'd be willing to let go for something like $20-25 shipped? Thanks!
  11. $1 shipping per item today only for President's Day at GoHastings. Code: 1776
  12. For the record, this is now up for pre-order on Amazon for $35.71. Still a lot for two discs, but better than $55. http://www.amazon.com/Different-Kind-Truth-Van-Halen/dp/B00784637K/ref=reg_hu-rd_add_1_dp
  13. I wouldn't say that I hate it. I just think they could have chosen a stronger and more representative lead single. It's also a really sluggish way to kick off the album.
  14. Don hooked me up with a GREAT deal and shipped it out super fast, and the record was well-packed and in great shape. Definitely backed.
  15. No kidding! "Tattoo" was so underwhelming, and I had pretty low expectations, too. I've just been skipping right to "She's The Woman" every time I listen to it.
  16. I haven't seen this posted yet, so here it is. Van Halen's new album A Different Kind of Truth (which was officially released today) is going to be released on vinyl on February 24th, 2012. The 2LP "Tour Collector's Edition" will be pressed on 180-gram red vinyl and contain all 13 tracks, an MP3 download of the album, and the live videos that come with the Deluxe Edition CD. Track Listing: Tattoo She's The Woman You and Your Blues China Town Blood and Fire Bullethead As Is Honeybabysweetiedoll The Trouble With Never Outta Space Stay Frosty Big River Beats Workin' The price? $54.98! Yikes. Not sure if I'll bite on this one... Though I was pleasantly surprised with the album. The single "Tattoo" is easily the weakest cut of the 13. 17. Are you not willing to sell these? I'm a 'Bats lover, but I don't have any Teenage Bottlerocket to trade!
