Good to hear, especially since you haven't gotten your order yet! I'm used to waiting for orders it's not biggie, plus a label that doesn't gauge you on the vinyl + shipping has my full support. I work for a company that buys and sells an ass load of vinyl so I know what distro cost is and when you price your vinyl close to what I'd pay distro that makes me love you!

I reached out to the label that put it out. I'd like to be able to do SOMETHING with it, so hopefully they respond. Their website/store seems basically defunct so who knows Yeah it'd be sweet to have a proper release and like I said before I'll buy anything you put out. So definitely do it haha

Gotta purchase a ticket to his solo tour. It's $26 for a ticket + the vinyl. I'm gonna be photographing the philly date so hopefully he has some for sale on the tour.

Yeah the all in one turntable/speaker setups typically don't have great stylus and arms so its much easier to have these types of problems. Unfortunately the only way to really fix this is to upgrade. It's annoying because for me it only happened on one record, so I just stopped playing that record, so when I upgraded and tried again it was fine. It's kinda hard to justify upgrading for one album, but sometimes that's the case.

Do you have the two tracks he recorded for the AP Acoustic Sessions back in 2006 or so, and the alternate version of "Walk Through Hell" from AP's Press Play Vol. 1 comp? If not, let me know. Absolutely it's my favorite version of that track, way better than the acoustic one. Probably my favorite of their songs, I wish I could get that on vinyl :/ Hopefully Equal Vision comes through and releases a shit load of their old stuff on vinyl!

Yeah, I feel the same way. What was the final nail was when the rarer variant of that Christmas 7" was being sold for more than the others. So shitty. Yeah, really. How the hell does someone put out a single LP for $20 when you can get a double LP (and original) for less? And Yeah I see no reason to buy this for $20 when I already own a copy that I got for $12. The color is cool but not worth ~$25 shipped. Also $7.50 for a 7" are you kidding me???

I had this same problem, not with the same record but a modest mouse record. It skipped constantly and even when I got a replacement it had the same problem. It turns out it was my turntable, this was back when I first started collecting and all I had was a Crosley all in one turntable. When I upgraded to an audiotechnica the problem went away. I know that's not an easy solution for everyone, but it fixed my problem.

Like I said no real way to know without seeing it, and I really doubt that it has a new UPC, because it almost never happens with a repress because of the cost of a UPC code.

A lot of the time labels will just reuse the UPC code for a release especially for a rerelease or repressing. It's cheaper for them since buying each UPC costs money although it does present problems like this. There's no real way to know for sure unless you see the record. Sorry.

Why can't everyone think like this? I have no problem with his blog he should just credit where he gets the stuff from. I think having a blog on vinyl is great as it'll hopefully help spread it to the masses so vinyl becomes more widely produced, I just don't think you should write up a story and not give a source for all your info. Especially if its all from the same place.

it's probably because he submits the news to absoultepunk himself and uses his blog as a source. even though his source, this board, is by no means official itself. plus jason tate is an uber thrice fanboy. absolutepunk pretty much posts anything user submitted as long as there is a source, regardless of how unoffical it is. a while back he posted "exclusive" news on his blog which was the pressing info for enjoy the ride's presing of Dustin Kensrue's first solo album. so on top of all the site trolling he does he randomly emails people who run labels of any kind hoping to get the scoop, exclusive or not. So basically an all around class act. We should start submitting to ap.net with this board as the source to scoop him and get him to knock it off.

he also trolls ebay looking for records that are in high demand and posts about them too. because people who want the records can't do their own ebay searches. Yeah I've seen that. What's the point of running a blog of reposes and eBay results? The kids an idiot yet ap.net post what he says as gospel and don't even go back to the actually source aka this thread. It's all kinds of ridiculous.

Yeah the one that got me was the TBS- TAYF repress which was reported on that site only when the thread showed up on the front page here, so basically he just trolls the front page here for info and then posts it on his site.
