  1. That looks amazing. Hopefully it comes out here. Do you know if Tony Jaa (Ong Bak) is making another movie? Its the only Thai film I know...
  2. It might be the band, not the record. I just saw them live and was so bored I left early. Plus they were selling the record for $20 bucks at the show, what a rip off.
  3. Does anyone have any King Crimson records? Also, does anyone know if Sabbath's dehumanizer was ever pressed on vinyl?
  4. you should change your flight! Not only would she be happy, but you'd see them TWICE (torche did come here once)
  5. Most of the indy stores in albuquerque sell them for that much, natural sound for one.
  6. Not sure about the value, but that is a sweet find. I have that as well, and I think I now have everything by that band, except the demo tape. I'm always checking on ebay and their seven inches almost never show up. My guess is that their early seven inches are only worth about $10 tops from what I've seen others go for.
  7. Only Airplanes Count, better left forgotten. That stuff was weak.
  8. forstella ford/assistant=screamo-math-metal? that sounds dumb, but awesome bands nonetheless Does the assistant have any full length vinyl releases? I just have a bunch of poorly packaged cd's from those guys
  9. I had to vote Mexican, but I'm a Mexican food snob. The only good stuff is from the south, fuck the mexican food in the US and on the border (except for green chile).
  10. my old band: www.purevolume.com/witharmsstillempty we broke up almost 5 years ago, probably for the better. I cringe when I listen to this stuff now. I played guitar we were from Grand Rapids, MI.
  11. Probably the Velvet Underground is the only one I'm trying to actively complete: Vol 1: the quine tapes 3cd set live at max's kansas city 2cd and lp Velvet Underground and Nico cd White Light/White Heat cd s/t cd Loaded: fully loaded 2cd Loaded lp, original press Another View Peel Slowly and See 5cd box set Live Valleydale Ballroom 1966 2cd bootleg set Live MCMXCIII 2 cd set Etc lp and so on lp VU and Nico Unripened LP Archetypes LP Live 1969 2LP VU lp +6 songs on mp3 not on these releases, a couple Nico albums and a Lou Reed-Transformer I also have 20-30 releases each from Deep Purple, Damned, the Cure, and Bjork.
  12. I think you need to separate places like Canada, Japan, and Europe where the economy is much better than say Brazil or Mexico, or other poorer countries. I'm from the US but I do spend a lot of time in Mexico City and have bought vinyl there, but its almost impossible to find vinyl releases produced in Mexico, or releases from Mexican bands. Most of the stuff available was brought from the US, and most of the current bands can't even afford to release cds. Vinyl is more of a luxury for those of us that have expendable resources. At least in Mexico City, most music is available on cheap bootleg cd-rs, or you can purchase entire discographies of bands for about $1-2. Buying expensive vinyl or even legit cds doesn't make a lot of sense, and the market for that stuff is much smaller than it is in the US, Canada, etc. Inutil, can you pm me links to Brazilian bands? I'd love to hear some stuff!!
  13. Right now, my count is at 791, including all types of records. For those that don't count their classic rock lps, are you interested in getting rid of them? I collect older stuff too, so if anyone has lists, I might be interested in purchasing them.
  14. agreed x100 I completely disagree, amputechture was their best yet. The solo stuff from Omar is pretty lame though...
  15. seriously? can't they take like eight months off or something? Yeah, they put out so much stuff its unbelievable. The new one is called Bedlam in Goliath and according to Amazon, comes out Sept 18.
  16. I love the Mars Volta, but I won't buy their vinyl. Too expensive, and for the nature of their music it just seems like it would be annoying to flip the record every 1 or 2 songs.
  17. Battle of Mice-a Day of Nights The Sword-Age of Winters Rainbow-Rising Roky Erickson and the Aliens-The Evil One
  18. If you ever need someone to play risk, I love that game!! Civilization is also really cool, but at least Risk can be played in one day.
  19. There's a new Mars Volta coming out in a couple weeks (I think) that I'm psyched about, and The Jazz June is releasing a cd/dvd set in about a week that I really want.
