  1. Maybe she opens it up, thinks it's cool, and becomes a collector. Or she thinks nothing of it, bought it on a whim just because shes likes FOB, and puts it on her book shelf forever. Both are fine. Who cares.
  2. Thats insane EDIT: Posting that didn't ease my stress like I was hoping. Seriously that's beyond belief that they did that.
  3. Smith, Bolden and Pitta is well above average as a group, especially when you factor in Rice. Peyton Manning turned Collie and Garcon into very good receivers. Brady turned Deon Branch good. Flacco is just so average to me. He's only regressed the last few seasons. An 87 rating this season you can probably consider under 80 a few years ago when you adjust for inflation of passing stats. I think Baltimore should let Flacco go, only if they can get Alex Smith. There is not one other starting caliber quarterback that will be available. They would never do that though after letting Dilfer go after the Super Bowl win turned out to be such a big mistake. I can't imagine the Niners releasing Smith. There is 1 starting QB FA and thats Flacco (2 if you count a released Vick, which I don't) while the draft is completely void of QB talent. Smith is a starting QB signed under a very favorable deal. There are a handful of teams that would be wise to trade a 2nd round pick for him, and it probably wouldn't even cost that much.
  4. I wouldn't even put him with them, and I don't like Eli and I despise Roethlisberger
  5. Joe Flacco has quickly become the most overrated QB in the league. Rumor is that he wants 20 mil. I don't care if they win Sunday, if I'm the Ravens I would take Alex Smith all day at 8 mil before I gave Flacco 20. Or 15 for that matter.

  7. ___ I'm not a Niemi guy at all. Some might say I'm "Anti" Niemi
  8. What if there wasn't any truth to it? How ruffled would they be then? I mean, I guess there can be two opinions here on Joe 1) He needs to score more points in the playoffs - ok that's fine 2) He's heartless - this I consider ridiculous with not an ounce of truth to it.
  9. _____ The vast vast majority of Sharks fans don't feel that way at all. I'd consider the opinion an urban legend, and fairly or what I absolutely feel is unfairly, it will only grow until he wins a Cup. Torts? John Tortorella? He's an asshole in general, on the outside looking in, has been passed on by The Sharks for a head coaching job, and said that probably not much after Thornton made some pretty ill advised comments on being better than The Rangers. Joe has put the Sharks on his back. He's the right guy for the C. It just hasn't worked out. Hell, Patrick Marleau is dealing with the same thing; have a couple bad playoffs and all of a sudden it's set in stone that he can't get it done.
  10. I would say I enjoyed each MCS album more than the last, IATM through MDL. "Go" brought that to a screaching hault. I'm all for evolving sound, I just didn't think it was very good.
  11. Which is exactly what I'm saying, he's not. Take this from someone that has watched him for what, 7 years now, which includes a trip to the postseason every year. He no showed a series or two, became miserable in Boston, half assed a faceoff that lead to a loss and was given to The Sharks. Since then the rep has only grown, which is riduclous and completely ill informed and / or biased
  12. In sports, guys get reputations, good or bad, and they grow and grow. Thornton had a couple no shows in Boston, 10 years ago, now he's a playoff choker. And really, he's hated around the league, which I find very weird. Was he a choker when he scored the series winner agaisnt the Kings?
  13. The reason I hate the opinion so much is because you're basically in the majority with that stance. Thornton has been an absolute beast in the postseason for the Sharks. For years now. It sucks that they've fallen short, and I understand it's easy to point at the face of the team, but it hasn't been because of Thornton
  14. That's an absolute fallacy. Utterly wrong. It makes me sick that it's such a common conception. If the Sharks don't win the cup it will have nothing to do with being captained by Joe Thornton. It will be because they fell short in x amount of aspects. Thornton will only be of a benefit to their chances. An extreme benefit. I've never seen a player want it as badly as Thornton the last few seasons. It's a joke that because Boston was so shitty to him he gets this wrap as some sort of choker.
  15. Patrick Marleau the first player since 1917-18 to open a season with 4 straight multi-goal games. Thornton with 11 points through 4 games as well.
  16. He's put up a couple seasons where when you factor in his age you go "wow, this could be a future Hall of Famer". Then he has a couple seasons like his last one.
  17. Can I hijack too since this seems to be the only open "Hot Topic" thread? I was thinking, a positive coming from them not allowing the Hot Cash on records is that they'll definitely have to move some to clearance at some point, which I don't think they've done in ages.
  18. I saw Myspace (lol) Secret Shows for Weezer and +44. Those were both amazing, especially +44 as they turned away people at 125 - I was 123. The Matches final show. Totally crazy, sad and amazing show.
  19. The Phillies have added massive salary and a combined -3 WAR in Mike Young and Delmon Young.
  20. I want to weed out extra CD's that I have, but when so many of them would net me around $1 or so on Ebay, I'd almost rather they just stay in my garage. Same with some boxsets; I'll throw away South Park season 1 before I sell it for $3!
  21. The D-Backs have traded an absolute ton of talent recently, and not gotten a whole lot in return
  22. Yeah Walker had Coors, but an 1.170 OPS is off the charts, even for that park. The way I look at it, is while I don't think PED's are out of baseball, I do think players can't basically roam free and take these chemical wanders that turn everyone into superman. So really, look at the numbers the last few years. Now go back 10-20 years and I think when you look at this insanely long list of guys easily topping a 1.000 OPS - when it almost can't be done today - what does that tell you?
