  1. whoa, i can't believe this thread got revived. hopefully the thing gets pressed.
  2. I'm trying to remember the name of a movie I saw a trailer for a while back. I remember people comparing it to Donnie Darko. I think it might be British. It involves a boy who is a little trippy and a girl (helpful I know) and the end of the world (?). More specifically, I think I remember a part where someone's face and/or hand gets injured from fireworks. Sorry if this is super vague it's just been bothering me. Thanks!
  3. American Spirit, I PM'ed you an alternate link to the album. Hope that helps. And I guess they'll have to deal with the band name if the time comes. But if you want to hear some seriously refreshing rock n' roll, check out this album!
  4. Hey there. Having been apart of this forum for some time, I thought some of you would enjoy my friends' band, Caution Children, new album. They're out of Ithaca, New York and the album is called Turn Off Your Smog Lights. It's their first official release. All bias aside, the album is very well done, and mixed and mastered really well. If you like Bruce Springsteen, The Hold Steady, Gaslight Anthem, or The National, this album is definitely for you. You can download the album FOR FREE here: http://sixteensixteen.org/cautionchildren/albums/turn-off-your-smog-lights/. Thanks and please let me know what you think!
  5. I saw a trailer for this movie maybe a year ago and I cannot think of what it is called. It involved a group of people locked in a single room taking a test or something. They are all applying for the same job position or something of the sort. Eventually, they find some kind of connection between one another or some other twisty element. I know this is extremely vague but it's been bugging me for a while. Anyone know what I'm talking about?
  6. So I'm looking to frame a bunch of my concert posters and prints. I know framing can cost a lot of money but I'm looking to spend as little as possible for decent looking frames. A bunch of them are odd sizes or else I would just buy pre-cut mats and frames. Any recommendations of where I could get them done? Or a place where I could order custom mats and frame sizes for fairly cheap? Thanks.
  7. Yeah, he's a really nice dude. Very laid back.
  8. I did this interview with P.O.S. and Dessa a few months ago but thought that some people on here might be interested in reading it. I did it for an Ithaca College magazine called Buzzsaw that I was the art editor for. It was before their show in Philly at the First Unitarian Church. It was so surreal getting to talk to them in the front pew of a church. I had sent an e-mail to Doomtree asking for an interview a few days before the show and hadn't heard anything back. Then, one hour before the show started I got a call from their merch girl confirming the interview. It was crazy. Enjoy! http://www.buzzsawmag.org/2010/04/05/qa-with-dessa-of-doomtree-p-o-s/
  9. Anyone know if there are any purple copies of this left anywhere? *Are the 180 g versions on ebay purple as well or are the regular pressings 180 g too? Thanks.
  10. Wow, I guess I'll be giving this a listen soon then.
  11. So I just inherited a ton of records and am in the process of going through them all. I came upon a copy of a Killing Joke 12" single. I remembered hearing about the band on this board and figured I would ask. It has "Requiem" on one side and "Change" on the other. Does anyone know anything about this record or if it's worth anything? Thanks.
  12. I'm shooting the cover for my friend's new record and I need one of those old school wooden crate, soap box type things but I'm having a hard time tracking one down. I know there are some resourceful people on this board so I figured I would ask if anyone knew of a place where you can find one. I thought of checking out the back of stores but people most likely don't use these to ship anything anymore. Any ideas?
  13. Dinosaur!! aka celebdeath is, as always, a great seller. record came swiftly and in perfect shape
  14. i should give this another listen soon. i never really gave it a chance
  15. i'm not sure about all time but these both got my vote for this past year http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1xT6cdfP_cM&hl=en&fs=1
  16. i'm not positive, but i'm pretty sure this had to do with that specific pressing and not that it was glow in the dark vinyl. i still really want this release but people only sell it for crazy amounts
  17. what is the record with the shoes on the cover (that's not live at park ave) ?
  18. deafmx is the man. he picked up the record from the record store for me and sent it very quickly with great packaging. he pretty much only charged me for the price of the record plus shipping. he even threw in a bunch of extras including a signed fold up poster. amazing.
  19. i'm bouncin off the walls again. whoooa..
