soo i just bought a receiver and found out that since it does not have a phono input i need to buy a pre-amp..fuck. any suggestions? should i just return it and buy one with a phono input?

So I'm buying my first amp for my turntable and I need some guidance. I have Bose Companion 3 speaker system. They're computer speakers and I ideally wanted to get the turntable to play through them, but I don't really want a usb turntable that plays through the computer. I was hoping to get some kind of cable that would split the speakers to both my computer and the amp. That being said, I was hoping for some direction in my search for my first amp. Any suggestions?

So my boss is a DJ and he has a lot of used equipment. He told me I could buy an amp off him for my turntable. It's a Crown Microtech 600 amp. I looked up some general information about it. It's pretty old and puts out 400 watts per channel which is more than enough power. Does anyone know anything else about this amp or how much I should be asking for it? I'm hoping to get it pretty cheap since I've known him for a while.
