  1. Initially, I thought, no freakin way was I gonna line up what's gonna be HOURS before the show to get the 7". However, as shitty as this sounds, I got laid-off on Friday (over 10 yrs at the same company, and NO clue it was coming) and if I could get my hands on one, I know I could turn it into some much-needed quick cash. So my position on the waiting in line thing might change. With my recent string of good luck though, I'd probably get there a few hours early and still not be one of the first 100, leaving me to kill a bunch of time before the show. Not to mention end of October weather in the city, almost guaranteed to be cold and rainy.
  2. Toby- heard something about Chris potentially playing acoustic before the show @ metro. any truth to this? probably just a rumor. Also, TBR on halloween right?
  3. Gingerman is awesome, a must before any show @ metro. I never met anyone working there that wasn't cool. and I'm a few months away from 32, so I've been going there for a while. Great beer selection and an awesome jukebox, that still gives a decent amount of songs for your $. Will definitely be knocking back a few there before the show.
  4. Dan- I have 1 extra ticket for Sunday. It's yours for $25 if you want it. I think they were about $32ea. w/service charge + shipping. I can meet you there or mail it, whatever you want.
  5. I believe he does have boobs. And i still can't decide how i feel about that.

  7. Got mine today from the el jefe site. It's signed, but not numbered. Do you guys think he just printed more to sell through the site? Obviously the ones at the shows are numbered, but I thought these were part of the intial pressing of 500. Anyone else get numbered ones through El Jefe?
  8. don't know if this had been posted yet, but just a heads up for Chicago people. Rise Against have announced plans to celebrate their tenth anniversary with a special hometown show in Chicago, IL at The Metro. Set for December 18th, the show will include fellow Chicago punk band The Bollweevils as well as Noise By Numbers. The event has been dubbed "Songs from the Fat Years" and will accordingly feature songs from the band's two albums on Fat Wreck Chords, 2001's The Unraveling and 2003's Revolutions Per Minute. Proceeds from ticket sales will go to Chicago’s Intonation Music Workshop (IMW), a music education program that provides access to instruments, instruction, and performance opportunities for Chicago youth aged 6-17 in under-served neighborhoods. Says Rise Against: It's hard to believe it's been almost ten years since we first planted the seeds of what would eventually become Rise Against. To celebrate, we thought we'd dust off some songs we haven't played in awhile and bring them to our favorite venue in the city that gave birth to this band. Whether you're an old fan, a new fan of the old stuff, or in the dark about our Fat Wreck years, it promises to be a sweet night. If all goes well, we plan to make this an annual event in a different city with a different charity every year. Thanks for ten great years Chicago, onward! www.etix.com
  9. Murder By Death said a one-time, cd only pressing ltd. to 1000. Unless they cahnge their minds and decide to press it on vinyl.
  10. dude, this is awesome! Can't wait to see the pictures. Oh, and do some of both, black & white and sepia
  11. going to this show, but NO WAY I'm waiting in line for hours to get one of these. I'll be sitting comfortably at the Gingerman, getting sauced.
  12. My wife and I, are driving up to Milwaukee (from Chicago area) for the show on the 4th. Then on the 5th we're taking a car ferry across Lake Michigan to Muskegon Mi, and then driving the 40 or so minutes down to the Grand Rapids show. Should be fun. We'll also be hitting up the Chicago show too!
  13. form Brendan's blog, 8/17- When my band, the Lawrence Arms, first started, we had this idea for a seven inch. We had the title picked out and we even knew what the cover was gonna be. We promised ourselves that our first seven inch would have this name and this cover. Well, we never did a seven inch (except for one that was part of a label series, which meant that the cover and the title were sort of more beholden to the big picture rather than our dumb ideas) and the whole thing kind of languished, and now, ten years later, in conjunction with our ten year anniversary show and subsequent west coast run (the first run in over 2 years), we’ve got our first real seven inch on our hands. And guess what? We fucking named it the name that we thought up ten years ago. That’s right, assholes. When we decided what our first seven inch was gonna be called, ‘a digital release’ sounded like some sort of futuristic way to blow your load using your computer, and yet this fucking record is gonna be released digitally with an extra song. That’s, again, right, asshats. You guys wanna know what it’s called? Do you? It’s called Buttsweat and Tears. Why? Well, for one thing, they’re the two most secreted liquids from the three of us over the last decade, but of course we didn’t know that would be the case when we thought up the title. We just thought it sounded tough, you know? What? Sure it does. Sigh. I’m out of here. Later, puds. Posted by Brendan Kelly

  22. Scott, I'm hoping you're doing more than "guessing" when you say Chicago looks like Oct. 5 (like maybe you know something, you just can't say yet) Also, isin't it weird that only 1 show falls on a Fri. and 2 shows on Saturdays on the whole tour. It makes it kinda hard to travel if they're not coming to your city
  23. Some of you might be interested in this. Adam Turman is the artist, he does great work. He just did the posters for Windy City Soundclash too. You can buy this @ www.adamturman.com
