  1. I'm not very good at keeping up with new music, so the bulk of the records from 2015 that I listened to were by musicians whom I already enjoyed. So, in no particular order...

Jason Isbell- Something More Than Free

John Moreland- High on Tulsa Heat

Lucero- All a Man Should Do

    Desapercidos- Payola

Florence and the Machine- How Big, How Blue, How Beautiful

    Joey Kneiser- The Wildness

    Chvrches- Every Open Eye

Beach Slang - The Things We Do to Find People Who Feel Like Us

    Deafheaven- New Bermuda

Shit, forgot to mention Leon Bridges- Coming Home

  3. This is hard: hmmm

    Queensryche - Operation Live Crime

    Slayer - Reign in Blood

Prince - Purple Rain (though there are better songs on other albums, i love every damn song on this one)

Cro Mags - Age of Quarrel

    Boston - s/t

Elvis Costello - My Aim is True

At The Drive In - Relationship of Command

    Metallica - Master of Puppets

Tom Waits - The Heart of Saturday Night

Bruce Springsteen - Greetings from Asbury Park

This is one solid ass list!

  4. Watched an awesome flick tonight with my wife called We Are Still Here...took a little bit to get going but once it did it was creepy...

I loved We Are Still Here; definitely a slow burn in the vein of 80s horror with a killer soundtrack to boot.

Guys, what's good lately? Stoked for Krampus! Watched Bone Tomahawk this week. It's kind of horror-ish, but not for this thread. Great acting, gnarly effects and gore, but definitely could have used an editor. Worth a watch, IMO.

Anyone see House On Pine Street or Tales of Halloween? I'm not sure they're out yet, but they seem promising. Not as promisimg as The Witch, but still.

I brought up Bone Tomahawk a couple of weeks ago after watching it and absolutely loving it.  I didn't notice any editing issues, but maybe I wasn't paying enough attention

  5. Against Me! - they played the same night Mad Caddies played in CT and I decided to stay at home and now I regret that I didn't see either band.

I was stoked as all hell to get to open for them, right after Axl Rose was released...until everyone in the band, except the drummer old drummer, turned out to be a huge jerk. I still listen to them regularly, but a 20 year old me was heartbroken back then.

  6. Literally the movie I was trying not to mention by name.

That movie is loathsome and I hate that there's a (mostly) fantastic Willem Dafoe performance trapped in it.

I loved this movie upon its initial release and rise to cult status; but, upon reviewing it, I realized how poorly shot and edited this thing was. There are some great scenes/acting/dialogue throughout that was ruined by terrible framing and editing.

  7. Everyone's got me feeling old here. The first 5 that were given to me as gifts...

    Vanilla Ice- To the Extreme

    Kris Kross- Totally Krossed Out

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles- Coming out of Our Shells

    Vanilla Ice- Extremely Live

    Snow- 12 Inches of Snow

Like most small town children of the early 90s, I was pretty damn into Vanilla Ice and all things Turtles. After getting more into music, the first 5 cassettes I bought on my own accord were...

    Green Day- Dookie

    Bush- Sixteen Stone

    Nirvana- Nevermind

    Offspring- Smash

    Metallica- Metallica

  8. This is awful and I'm so sorry, so very sorry, Cesar. I would absolutely love to donate something or even buy something; however, I am extremely broke due to the holidays and only one income coming in at the moment. I know it won't help much, and I assure you that it isn't a plea for self promotion, but if anyone purchases my record via Bandcamp, Iwill donate all of the earnings to Cesar and his family. So if anyone was considering buying it in the past, it will go to a good cause. Again, not in the interest of self promotion, I just wish more than anything that I could help more.

My heart and thoughts go out to you and your family, Cesar.

  9. white boxes like the ones you'd find from bags unlimited or amazon or whatever.  when i moved to DC from Kansas, I had to use about 8 or 9 of those boxes, it sucked, they were heavy and I worried about them along the way since it was summer, but they're not awful to carry and they stack pretty well and make for good storage containers when you're all moved in

  10. I have a writing degree, so I fucking love books. My list is filled with obvious classics, but they're classics for a reason. In no particular order...

    The Grapes of Wrath

    Catcher in the Rye

    Extremly Loud and incredibly Close

The Complete Works of Flannery O'Connor

    Animal Farm

    The Road

    As I Lay Dying

    In Cold Blood

    Watchmen

    The Exorcist
