  1. Is it that difficult to extrapolate that I was saying that these arguments and statements such as "this isn't a surprise" aren't what anyone or their families would want at their death? Or that it's the least pertinent thing to say about the person? You're a shining paragon of intelligence in every thread I see your posts in. That's not at all what I'm saying, I'm saying that this culture discusses death of people who are famous in the most asinine, disrespectful way possible.
  2. There's absolutely no denial about it, and you didn't pick up on anything I actually said.
  3. The fact that there are even arguments about whether or not someone's death is deserved, and the fact that there are statements like "this is to be expected" speaks volumes. Just saying.
  4. And the person who says counting calories doesn't have anything to do with weight loss does it again. Jesus Christ, you're an asshole, A-Money.
  5. Why? There are a million variants and you can pick one up for around 20 bucks if u watch the board for a couple weeks.. Because everyone wants to buy a used copy of something that depreciates with each play, especially on an improperly set up turntable. Jesus christ, this is retarded.
  6. http://www.kingsroadmerch.com/epitaph-records/?id=19 Everything but Let's Go is available here.
  7. Most of these are missing a large number of the tracks on the original release. These aren't worth buying at all, even at this price.
  8. I still don't think that trying to create a system that needs as little upkeep as possible is not intellectually dishonest. On top of that, I'm not of the opinion that listening to or appreciating music has anything to do with the method of acquiring it. It's stealing, of course, and I know of few people who argue that point, I know I don't. But what you're saying is the concept of a private tracker is "protecting the integrity of ill-gotten gains," when the point is to create a system where torrents don't have to be reuploaded constantly, meaning as little upkeep is needed. Go on Demonoid and there will be dozens of inactive torrents for a particular album, and probably five or six active ones. What.cd sets it up so that the only times there are "duplicates" are when they're in different formats or qualities. There isn't any elitism, romanticizing or hypocritical. It's setting something up where if someone is making the system not work, they'r removed from it. The only part about it that's objectionable is the part where the thing being uploaded is music, the means they use to keep their files distributed is not.
  9. I have 5-14, but I haven' received any download. Has virgil's email or anything changed?
  10. You're still not making any sort of point. If the mehtod of distribution requires people to seed, it requires people to seed. Period. It's not a morality thing to try to keep your torrents up and running, it's a convenience thing. It isn't defending or romanticizing it, it's wanting to keep the files in distribution. It's no different than trying to find a permanent host to upload something to when your preferred method of downloading is not torrenting. For the record, I rarely torrent. And honestly, if you want to get into it, I'm of the opinion that as soon as CD ripping became easy to do and as soon as mp3 players meant CDs were one use throwaways, that made any form of digital media meaningless. And if you'd stop getting defensive about why I doubted you on the What.cd account thing, you'd stop looking like such an asshole. I didn't use my what account for over a year at one point and I was one of the first 2.5k users. I didn't believe you because I had not used my account in so long, but it still works. They don't do stuff like that unless it's done to everyone in most cases, so I didn't think they did that. It's not a "why would they lie about that" it's "I don't think they do that." You're taking everything anyone is saying in this thread a little personally.
  11. It isn't at all to make it fair. It's to make sure that the torrents that are uploaded don't die, so that they can be sustained and not have to be remade every 3-4 weeks. Keeping files available when the purpose of the site is to make files available is not hypocritical. Other sites do it to try to foster a community, try to make people care about the site because they need to put work into it in order to stay a part of it. This leads to becoming more active users, which will likely mean more files uploaded, which, again, is the purpose of the site. How are either of those hypocritical?
  12. I log on my what account once a year. How did you get booted for not logging in? I don't believe that, honestly. And you're entirely missing the point with the second part. That's just straight up stupid.
  13. Deep Sleep! Those dudes need more attention!
  14. I really want this, Ruiner is probably one of my top five favorite bands. This was supposed to be out before they broke up. I didn't really care about Virgil and his fuck ups except the delay of this, these tracks have been recorded FOREVER.
  15. The entire point is you eat under your maintenance. If you eat under the maintenance for a person of your height and size, you're going to lose weight. Pretty much end of discussion. Counting calories is completely fine. And as for the cake vs raisin bran thing mentioned earlier, both are going to be loaded with high GI carbs and are going to spike your insulin. Both are going to suck about as hard and are bad ideas for losing weight.
  16. Best thing said so far. Most of the stuff in here is common sense. If you really want to hunker down and start getting in shape, resistance training is definitely the way to go.
  17. That last post doesn't even make a damn bit of sense.
  18. Well...I don't not want the government to not do stupid shit... Woops. I think what I was saying was easy to pick up though.Anyway I'm not really arguing what is/isn't punk, but the thing is a lot of people who do make income off of online poker do report it in their taxes. Instead of shutting this down for everyone, why not find a way to correct this?
  19. I thought a lot of people here liked punk, you know, a genre typically tied in with groups that don't want the government not doing stupid shit. Regardless of how important you think online poker is, it's still pretty fucking silly of this to happen. Whatev
  20. Suggesting to purchase the games when it's been established that piracy is the goal is kind of silly. If anything you'd buy a wii with this purpose in mind to mod it as it's the easiest system to mod. On top of that, the newer 360s are still pretty easy to mod. If you have a PS2, specifically a thin PS2(way easier to mod), you could just burn DVDs with full Rom sets with emulators and play them on that. Other than that, it's been so long since I modded mine, but I'll look around.
  21. I need to pick up two of the 7"s still. I'll stop by Celebrated Summer Records to see if there's copies there before I pick them up from the webstore.
  22. Sorry bro, he's a terrible singer. Maybe it's because I'm not into bands that put image over content, but these bands are horrible. I agree with this, but in this specific case, sending money to someone with a well-documented drug problem, even before this incident, is a bit of a red flag. And whoever said he is a crappy singer, what? Sorry, this dude is a horrible singer. Terrible bands too.
