  1. You just need to adjust your counter weight at the back of the tonearm. If your table doesn't have one, you should toss it in the trash and buy a new one.
  2. Sick, love it. I will be attempting to get one of the 333 White Stripes sets. Hopefully 333/333 to match my address. http://store.thirdmanrecords.com/thewhitestripes-vinyltartersetchristmas2010.aspx 3rd man set is not limited and each piece will be sold separately. http://store.thirdmanrecords.com/thewhitestripes-vinyltartersetchristmas2010-1.aspx $499 big ole bucks. Expensive, but fairly priced for the contents. A pair of master blasters is 200 bucks to start with, and these are custom.
  3. sweetness! I want these Real Estate records, if I win you can even keep the cassettes.
  4. First screen of iTunes when you have your device selected, look at the bottom and you will see something like "manually manage music". Click that. That way you can just drag and drop the music you want whenever you want and do not need to sync the entire library just to add an album.
  5. TEAM TR-6 That will show the other teams you are there to win. OK trivia, whats the TR-6?
  6. oh and get used to firmware updates on EVERYTHING in the future. Its a good thing, your electronics will last you much longer and keep up with new features. TVs will need this now and almost everything.
  7. I have a pioneer player 120 and it is great. upgrading the firmware is simple. You go to the website, download the small file, stick it on the thumb drive, put it in the BD player and select upgrade. I couldn't play Avatar until I upgraded, but once I did the player ran faster all around. I prefer a stand alone player to a drive built into a PS3, you can do CD live and other stuff with a BD player that you cant with a PS3. But I am also a geek so I like that kinda stuff. Plus I have all Pioneer components and the KURO link allows them all to communicate together and stuff.
  8. New Black Angels album New band about to release a 7" called Two Bit Dezperados
  9. Lover! Lover! Lover! Lover! http://www.myspace.com/killdewaynne
  10. Cool, seems like a good list, I mean they are record stores, I'd go into just about all of them. I find it pretty funny that this list is just an ad for YP.com
  11. Yeah it is kinda pricey. I think it is sweet, but I also have a soft spot for 7 inch records. I think a lot of them are splits and comps which is why there are less records then bands.
  12. This new book featuring only 7 inch records from the USA is being released. I posted several large size pages as a small preview that I do not think got posted elsewhere, check it out, looks cool! Releases from Against Me!, lightning bolt, some singles series, new stuff! http://www.limitededitionvinyl.com/2010/touchable-sound-a-collection-of-7-inch-records-from-the-usa/
  13. This is not an argument about music, it is an artificial debate about a description. This is why genres suck. You have already judged a band before you heard them. Plus "lo-fi" bands can sound very different. White Stripes vs. Times New Vikings vs. Neutral Milk Hotel vs. Jerusalem and the Starbaskets Vs. Psychedelic Horseshit vs...you get the idea With that said I think you dislike shit-gaze, not lo-fi....
  14. WOW.... Its called placing a high bid in the 7 days the auction is open...I find it really funny a service can charge to bid at the last minute, if people were not so dumb and bid what they were willing to pay right up front, they would not loose as many auctions, Its called proxy bidding and it is free and automatic. Sniping is just this weird completely wrong way of thinking that seems to have caught on with almost all ebayers...
  15. damn, wish I would have seen this yesterday, just took about 70 singles up to the record store, most of them Garage Punk stuff, many Hozac golds.... Make me an offer on the Island Ave 7", gold edition and I might sell it to you.
  16. Based on this pictures I do not see a ground cable, but that's typically on the pre-amp so it may be grounded internally.... Nice deal, thinking about grabbing one for an extra.
  17. New Black Mountain and new Black Angels sick, awesome, killer, damn damn damn damn
  18. Good stuff! Go Columbus! Get out to Spoonful man, you will dig it.
  19. So in case any of you are Black Angels fans (and why wouldn't you be??) you might be interested in picking up mr Blands solo album, "The Lost Album", available on 333 hand numbered vinyl LPs. go to http://www.austinpsychfest.com/ and click on store to purchase a copy. I received my download and its a pretty damn good album. ps, new Black Angels is some serious kick ass shiz.
  20. damn holmes, pullin out the big guys for a big payday huh??
  21. naw, this place is located farther north off campus, by N Broadway.
  22. Yeah great guy for sure, was cool enough to provide some LPs when I was running the limited edition site, very good msuic he puts out. I do not believe he owns the lathe, a guy out in New Zealand makes his lathe cuts. My dad has a lathe, I am tempted to see how that all works.
  23. Important has colored Tar Prophesies vol 1 to 4 available to people on their mailing list, get on it and get um.
  24. So just found out about ANOTHER new record store in COlumbus, OHIO. This one is a punk and metal shop, I suspect lots of you would dig this place. Dreadful Sounds http://www.facebook.com/pages/Columbus-OH/Dreadful-Sounds/107336362630071#!/pages/Columbus-OH/Dreadful-Sounds/107336362630071?v=wall 3339 1/2 N. High St., Columbus, OH, 43202 Hell yeah, that brings our total to 7! 7 record stores in 2010 when the brick and mortar stores are supposed to be tankin. Long story short, Columbus kicks ass.
  25. That Menomena LP is hands down amazing, Good luck finding one, I don't think I will ever part with mine, one of my most prized pieces. Well, I would trade it for a copy of BRMC - Howl, if you find one of those.
