Its likely come to the point where there's so many test presses accumulated they're just collecting dust. I'm sure Chris and others get asked often if they'll sell their test presses, and these auctions seem to be the best way for everyone who wants one to have a chance at it. As Corey said, they just remodeled, and Chris just made that proposal 7" which seems to have had at least a few copies made.
