How about buying USB N64 controllers and using emulators? That's what I do. connect it straight to the TV. BOOM

 

you can buy aftermarket controllers that resemble an n64 controller, but they have a usb connector on the end. You can then run emulators on your computer which will let you download/ play pretty much any n64 game you want.

 

the usb n64 controllers aren't nearly as accurate, and OP might be after the novelty of the console / physical media. that's like telling everyone on VC to download MP3's instead of listening to vinyl.

ah, thanks for clearing that up. i've never used one myself, just figured it was a more reasonable options. Some of those games go for ridiculous amounts now! i just dropped $50 on mario kart last week.
