GalacticMelt
Glenn Frey, a founding member and guitarist of the Eagles, one of the most popular and commercially successful artists of the 1970s, has died. The band confirmed the news on Monday (Jan. 18) with a statement on its website. "Glenn fought a courageous battle for the past several weeks but, sadly, succumbed to complications from Rheumatoid Arthritis, Acute Ulcerative Colitis and Pneumonia," read the statement. "Words can neither describe our sorrow, nor our love and respect for all that he has given to us, his family, the music community & millions of fans worldwide." Frey had been battling intestinal issues that caused the band to postpone its Kennedy Center Honors. A statement from the band said then the recurring problem would require "major surgery and a lengthy recovery period."
dantheriver
Yet another bummer. Glad I saw them a few months back. My mom is a huge Eagles fan, she's pretty torn up. Klefki
dapeebs
Told my dad when I saw this. He was pretty shocked. A lot of musicians have been kicking it lately.
billya
RIP. Glenn Frey was a legend. Russell from Almost Famous was loosely based on him.

kamalatapes
RIP, any of my Asian fam or karaoke fam in general knew what The Eagles meant to that culture of trying to learn English through singing and Glenn Frey was a big part of that. Having all three of those diseases must have been excruciating I'm glad he's resting well.
2moreinches
As soon as I was told he died today I went straight back to bed because this hit me so hard. Two Eagles concerts that I've seen are easily in my top 5 best concerts ever. kamalatapes
