SpazzyMcGee
Oct. 14. https://www.joyfulnoiserecordings.com/collections/albums/products/popular-cycles Busman's Holiday is Lewis and Addison Rogers, brothers of melodic charm and ecstatic showmanship. Based in Bloomington Indiana, the duo released their debut full-length A Long Goodbye a couple years ago on JNR. Though adept in a D.I.Y. aesthetic of acoustic busking with only a guitar and a suitcase drum set, Popular Cycles is an expansion from the duo's stripped down origins. Recorded at Arcade Fire’s Sonovox Studio, arranger Matt Nowlin and producer Mark Lawson helped them capture an expanded sound, incorporating a 21-piece orchestra alongside the duo's charmingly primitive songs. The result is an adventurous album that gyrates from Americana to western soundtracks to drones of twelve-strings, and back to Americana... Think Richard Strauss scoring PeeWee’s Playhouse. The VIP-exclusive vinyl is limited to 500 hand-numbered copies on purple & orange A-side/B-side vinyl w/ white and magenta splatter. Plus, we're including a bonus lathe-cut DVD containing four live videos and one secret recording which is lathe-cut directly into the disc. One Hundred Fifty-Two
Is this band popular? I saw them when I was at college in Bloomington and thought they were awful.
Jamie Rarity
not a fan but their last album had imo the greatest variant of all time, and this one sounds pretty damn sick too

mameeshkamowskwoz
I really liked the first one. Definitely an older Avett Bros. vibe. SpazzyMcGee
