viol8r4
I've been going through my late fathers record collection and there are a few strange one's I have come across. I'm curious if anyone knows what this is? I have googled and can only find this from ATCO I know that ATCO and Atlantic are connected but cant seem to find this same copy anywhere and was wondering if it might be worth anything? It is only recorded on one side. I cant insert from link for some reason...below is the google drive link usp=sharinghttps://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1nbiACFcTFmZSIDfDxTOgPQq1G-Kl1T3H?usp=sharing
MCDELTAT
There used to be a sticky thread for dealing with this kind of thing, but I'll be the nice one. Google won't be of help. Use Discogs. https://www.discogs.com/artist/97664-Bee-Gees?sort=title%2Casc&limit=25&query=holiday&page=1 That's all their releases that contain the song "Holiday". None that say it's just a single track on side A. You sure there's no music on side B? I can't tell, seems like the lighting messed things up. It does looks kinda weird though, like it was a radio station copy, or a promo copy.
Rev. Mike
Looks like an acetate for one of these (ATCO 6521): https://www.discogs.com/The-Bee-Gees-Holiday/release/1801105 Sometimes Acetates would only be one sided, so there would be a separate one for the B side. MCDELTAT
Interesting. Didn't really know about this. Some discussion on them here. https://www.discogs.com/forum/thread/415266 Can be played on a regular turntable, but they are more fragile so may not last as long. May or not be more expensive since people can't really play them, etc.
Rev. Mike
This is the only other reference I can find for one of these acetates, here called a test pressing, which an acetate essentially was: https://www.popsike.com/THE-BEE-GEES-HOLIDAY-1-SIDED-TEST-PRESSING-1967-WLP-PROMO-45-DJ-COPY-VG/110861876699.html
chiefwahoo
See here for more examples: https://www.45cat.com/45_filter.php?far=&fla=Atlantic+[USA]&fdd=0&fdm=0&fdy=&fcy=&fvi=26&fra=0&fso=dalf&fgo=1#fr It'd be great if you could add this record to the 45cat site. Or I'd be happy to do so for you.
