thebluedino
I'm ridiculously psyched about this. I've been waiting 13 years to have some rentals tracks on vinyl and it looks like it'll actually happen this year.
kurtmanner
Wow! This project is HUGE! I hadn't heard about this until now and I'm wicked excited! It sounded awesome but after visiting the site and getting a better feel for what they're doing it's even better. I just hope the costs of the packages will not be too ridiculous, or at least not for the vinyl.

cadetapplesauce
awesome. probably will be expensive though =/ Theyre putting so much work into this, they'll have to be agreed. i'm predicting the deluxe box sets to be priced around $300... well maybe that's a stretch, but i really wouldn't be surprised. opivy
I don't think people would pay more than 150 and even then I don't know if 365 people would buy it. How popular are the rentals now?

thebluedino
Anyone else sign up for the mailing list and get the free song? It's fuckin' good. Simple and driving. I just got it. I like it a lot but wish it had vocals.
jhulud
I thought it needed vocals as well. But I listened to it a few more times and I feel that it also works without them. Fits in like a soundtrack to the films.
jhulud
Has anyone else been keeping up with this. I'm still intrigued by it. And the pre-sales went up already.
enjoyadrian
$275. If i had money to blow, I think i would go for it. You get lots of neat stuff. Too bad i do not have the money to blow.

jhulud
Yeah...definitely top-quality...I have the NIN one and it's impressive and well-done.
moogrocker
I know quite a few people in the Rentals "camp" so to speak... they're definitely going all out for this. The plan is to take all three EPs and shop it around to some heavy hitter llabels as full album ... look for a 2010 release on that. In the meantime, check in every day or week for some amazing stuff. Joe Santiago of the Pixies is in this week's video, for the lead song off of the first of 3 EPs. In the end, this will be worth it. They want to re-establish themselves as a really focused/artistic indie band... and it's working. Rentals : epic win Weezer : epic fail

They want to re-establish themselves as a really focused/artistic indie band... and it's working. i never found the rentals to be anything but a focused indie band. they play tight and the songs fucking rule. i guess this seals the deal as the rentals being an all encompassing project of sorts. moogrocker
the band is hell-bent on being ten times more awesome, creative and successful with this project. I'm just waiting for pitchfork to get behind it. Anywho... I'm looking forward to the end result, and might end up splurging to acquire the LP box set. Worth every penny. cadetapplesauce
yeah, i'd definitely do it if i had the cash. and i thought the last little life ep was rebirth enough.
jhulud
I spent a good hour on the site last night listening to the music, watching the videos, and looking at the pics...I'm really into it. Ambitious project and seems to be working so far...I'm impressed. I even busted out the NIN set AinR out out and goddamn...that's impressive in itself...I can only imagine what the Rentals' one will be like...I'm sold on it. Just have to scrounge up the $$$. kris
question, on the PO site, the deluxe edition doesn't say anything about the LP box set. So is it only available with the limited deluxe edition? that's a big jump from $125 to $275...
