sgoodcore
I know you can get the records made, for 500, for about $750 through Lucky Lacquers. Then you'd just need covers made.

suburbanargyle
I've got a question about this. Say I'm interested in doing a split 7" (which I am) and that I have some money to do it (which I do). As the person putting put the split, I'd of course be paying all the money for it to be made. Then how does it work? Would I sell the records to the bands at some sort of discounted rate, and also sell them myself? Is this just something that is worked out on a case by case basis? j4m35
you would maybe give a percentage of the records to the band(s) or if they dont want any a percentage of the profit of the first pressing or something...
forgeagain
There aren't going to be any profits from the first pressing of a split 7" unless you're pressing 1000+. Has anyone actually USED Lucky Lacquers yet? Or is all this hype based on the price/free reference copy?

Is this just something that is worked out on a case by case basis? typically what you do is you give the band(s) 10-15% of the pressing for doing the record with you. you sell the band more copies at a discounted rate, which is called the wholesale rate. This is what you'll sell the record to store and distros for. This is usually for 7"s $2.50-3.00 and CDs/LPs $5.00-8.00, all depending on the per unit cost, the profit margin you want to have per unit, etc. pm me if you want any advice.
