That's going to give me nightmares. *shudder* Being someone who is a competent Photoshop user this is a major major major fail. i don't get it... i use photoshop and i don't see this as a major fail, everything they've done on photoshop looks ok to me. If the picture is just shit then it's bad photo editing, someone should have picked a different one. The second cover, however, needs more photoshop! Must point out that i really couldn't picture his face exactly anyway so i guess i could be wrong, but there doesn't seem to be much wrong.
