panda
Come on USPS, really? I'm pretty sure this record is unplayable. I don't even think I'm gonna try. Well, at least I got colored vinyl.

devinr
That sucks man. I received an Ignite record a few years ago that had a puncture hole through both sides of the box. I opened it and found this.... pardon the shitty phone pics.
desensitizedbyu
It has a hole through it? I don't even wanna know how that happened.

devinr
It has a hole through it? I don't even wanna know how that happened. I can only speculate. I've had many a boot prints on my boxes but that was the first time there was a hole through both sides of the box and the record.
skanknsmile
that happened with my "original cowboy" from Fat as well. They sent me another one, but I don't know if I got it or in colored because they sent it to my old house. *edit* my mom just checked it and said it was colored. This was at least 3 weeks or so after pre-order that I got it fucked and they resent me a colored one. Ask nicely and maybe the same will happen to you. P.S. Thanks Fat! devinr
I remember seeing your post about your copy of original cowboy. The worst thing about all of this is it's common. I'm just thankful it's only happened to me once in the 10 years I've been mail ordering records.
ohiopride
fuuuuuuuck, that sucks major! that hasnt happened to me yet *knock on wood*if i got a package from USPS looking like that, i would fuckin' snap
usps
Very sorry to hear about your experience. We recommend insurance for collectible items such as phonographic sound recordings. The worst thing about all of this is it's common. I'm just thankful it's only happened to me once in the 10 years I've been mail ordering records. Less than 1% of our parcels are lost or damaged in transit. In these cases, damage is usually minor. We are happy to have provided you with good service these past 10 years. devinr
Random posts here and there anytime someone has a negative comment about the USPS. Whom ever it is just keeps saying we should all buy insurance.
adamlikesmusic
It's a fake account. Some people create second accounts for singular purposes, and find them funny.
devinr
I assumed it was fake. I'd like to think the USPS has better things to do than chat with us.

Yeah, they've got packages to drop and in some cases puncture so we've all got things to talk about besides Gaslight Anthem.

mariawithoneeye
I don't know but I think that usps is hating me now too. It is taking FOREVER to get stuff in the mail. I'm starting to get nervous
devinr
Why is the USPS so fucked?.It's mostly media mail. Your packages gets shipped ground with large freight and often don't come in in the best shape. My boxes are often beat to hell but the vinyl is usually intact. All in all USPS isn't terrible it's just an assembly line process.
adamlikesmusic
Maybe I'm crazy, but that American Steel LP looks like it could easily be flattened.

panda
Maybe I'm crazy, but that American Steel LP looks like it could easily be flattened. You know what? I thought that too, and then I flattened it out. Now when I play the record it goes into a locked groove. Now unless this record is just a giant series of locked grooves I think my copy is fucked. Guess I’ll be buying another copy of this record. However there is good news. I really liked the two seconds of this records I heard.
