mclz
According to IMDB Evil Dead IV is in development. I don't have IMDBPro so I don't know anything else about it.

Guest naytoid
I was under the impression that they were doing a re-make, or something?
psychoriley
As long as it's not anything like Army of Darkness. That sucked so bad. Evil Dead I & II are fuckn great. But when III came out....I thought it was stupid. They put to much comedy in it. A re-make could be good....of I or II of coarse.

psychoriley
No....I was VERY disapointed in III. It's NOTHING like I or II. It had a good story up to the over excessive comedy crap....maybe I have no sense of humor....not for a horror film. If I want comedy horror, I can watch scary movie. My guts sayn it could go either way great or suck shit....pending, It would be nice to make up for part III.
lonesomexloveus
dude....evil dead and evil dead 2 were ridiculously goofy! which was kind of the point of those movies. and why i love them, haha.
lonesomexloveus
i meeeeeean...comedy is the first genre evil dead II is listed under on imdb.
psychoriley
There was no comedy in I and part II only had comdey when he cut his hand off, and it started running around. III is what got any of them in the "comedy" section. But in all actuallity, ALL horror films to me are "funny". I probably laugh more than some may think one should. lokithelion
What about the dancing dead girl friend in part 2? Or the house fucking w/ him? That movie is funny as balls. Army of Darkness is awesome.
casey
Yeah, I don't know how the comedy of ED I and/or II could go over someone's head. It's pretty obvious it's supposed to be funny. As far as your gut telling you not to like it...Did you see Drag Me to Hell? 'Cuz that should show for the record that Raimi can still do this type of flick. dante3000
He puts his hand under a pot and puts "Farewell to Arms" on top of it. Don't give me there wasn't comedy in 1&2.
cadetapplesauce
the first one was a movie that was trying to be serious but just came off as funny the third one was intentionally trying too hard to be funny the second one was just right

psychoriley
OK.....I'm not saying ther was NO comedy in the movies, but nothing near the amount in part III. I think they just over do it, to where it effects the movie and puts it in a different catagory than I or II. I just think the first 2 are MUCH better than the 3rd. podface
i read an interview with sam raimi a couple of years ago where he said they would either make an evil dead 4 with bruce or remake evil dead with a whole new cast... unfortunately, i think they were leaning towards the latter. although im not convinced how bad-ass ash could really be at 50.
