kyle
which record store was it that closed? sounds like? the mad platter? Sounds Like. Don, the owner, actually reopened a new store in January in a different location under a different name. It's not very good (not that I was ever really found much in the store to begin with). You're from Riverside?

ajackwithoneeye
Yeah, I have a perma-boner for Ear-X-Tacy but I just can't make it out there as much as I would like to. Maybe next week before the Crime In Stereo show . . . . . I'm actually going tomorrow before the Built to Spill/Meat Puppets show.

xxmartinxx
Vinyl, despite it's recent upswing in popularity, it still a very niche market. I hope it opens up even more to keep record stores afloat. However, in my area, two out of our three indie record stores have closed in the past 2 years. Major bummer.
thesack18
in melbourne which is at least an hours drive away from me, theres probably 2 or 3 record stores i visit when i go into the city. but theres only one i usually buy shit from. thats poison city. its basically just a physical version of the no idea webstore. distro for no idea, taang, boos tuneage, combat rock industry, newest industry, people like you, hobbledehoy and others im sure. its really great so theres a huge selection of cds that most places dont stock, and a small range of vinyl, but i usually find something good. heaps of tees. plus its a skate shop so a few decks, trucks, wheels, bearings, all that shit. books and whatever. its really great. the guy is tonnes friendly too which really helps.
