silentgods
seems everyone i've seen on ebay is from Brazil, is there a reason for this? although i did get a Bathory album for cheap.
cosmonaut
There was a lot of bootlegging going in in South America. Did that Bathory record seem pretty legit?

flood
theres alot of 90's bands on vinyl from down there too.. my thought is the tech for CD players was out of line with what the population could afford.. so they stuck with vinyl long after a lot of other countries all but abandoned it
cosmonaut
^ Good point. Plus, the Brazilians (and South Americans in general) love them some metal.
Guest eriathomas
They also did just launch the PS2 there.
davehoffa
Yeah - I've always thought that it was just because people from Brazil love metal.

Even when i was a kid, you could find tons of brazilian bootlegs at the fleamarkets (yes, they sold metal albums at the flea market) in the 80's.. south american's love the metal too. allan, there was (maybe still is) a place in San Antonio in a flea market that you can find just about any metal album from the 80's. Not kidding. Last time i went there, i picked up a iron maiden "Live after death" subway poster for $16 and exciter's "long live the loud", and metallica's "kill em' all" OP on magaforce for $40. Talk about a good deal...
dynamitekid
No reservations talked about this. I guess the primary form for music is vinyl, especially singles.
