kyle
what in god's name is the benefit of all that extra crap??? It looks excessive, but a lot of it has a use. I don't really know too much of the technical stuff, but very, very high end turntables are designed to not have parts that interfere with eachother and everything is supposed to be perfectly stable, blah blah blah. $100,000 turntable http://www.needledoctor.com/Clearaudio-Statement-Turntable?sc=2&category=

roadmonkey
so you want some digital to listen to an analog record? Actually, (and this is one of the reasons it costs $10,000) the laser reads everything in the grooves/walls and transmits the information it collects from the reflections are sent to the audio signal which is an analog output. riddle350
Someone buy me ANY turntable Are you in need of one? Yeah I currently don't have one. I was eyeing those USB turntables since I could just plug it into my girlfriends stereo and I wouldn't have to spend the money on a receiver and speakers. My birthday is in a few weeks so hopefully I get some money that I can spend on a turntable.
ronniethebear
I may sell my secondary one off to someone here for super cheap. I just need to get the RCA connections on my nice one re-soldered, which my friend is supposed to be doing any day now. If any of you without one are interested, let me know.
