Alkaline Trio - This Addiction PO up at Interpunk

Recommended Posts

I was so happy last night when I found out I could order this for the store! Then saw that DCFC's Transatlanticism has either been repressed or someone found some. My turntable is getting anxious!

Two questions real quick: Has it leaked yet (because I'm impatient LOL)? And what's on the DVD that comes with the CD/DVD version - making of + videos or?

No it hasnt leaked yet and I havent heard yet whats on the DVD. I assume some combination of live/music videos, making of, interviews....the usual stuff...

I honestly think Crimson is their best album, all the way through.

although its not my favorite, its up there, " Mercy Me" is such a catchy song

Oh man, Mercy Me was the first song on that album that pulled me in. I remember putting that song on repeat when I first got the CD for a couple weeks.

I felt like throwing something into the expectations pile people are building but, for me, I've never met a Trio album I didn't like. I just hope that the lyrics aren't the weakness they were on most of A&I. So I won't. :)

Just got this tidbit from the newest wholesale catalog from RevHQ.com in regards to the CD/DVD set:

"This version features an additional six tracks plus a full-length concert DVD shot in Las Vegas in 2008."

I fucking hate buying a CD of something I have the vinyl and official MP3s of, but I can't even pretend I'm not already making purchasing plans. They should really offer a special edition vinyl version, even if it just means they throw in the bonus tracks on a CD and the DVD. :P

QFT

...please tell me I wasn't the only retard who had to Google that to see what the hell it meant? No, it is only me? :-/ Excuse me then, I need to go find my son and apologize for his future (or lack there of).

How about we meet halfway and have the album on gatefold as the 11 song album with the additional music material as an optional download?

Matt's still singing about cemetaries and heroin and shit. Dan's three songs are all top notch, with great lyrics.

Dan's songs are fucking awesome. The bonus material has two Dan songs that also rule. And Dead On The Floor is one of the best alkaline trio songs ever.

"Dead On The Floor" is the best song on the record, hands down, mainly because it's awfully similar (both musically and lyrically) to "San Francisco."

Insulting is not my style. Another forum I'm a part of uses QFT often...my bad. Sounds like Epitaph has found a happy medium...but I'm also sick of missing physical copies of bonus material just because I prefer vinyl. Either way...I'm excited as possible for this release, and was just trying to give credit for someone expressing my feelings before I got to it.

  • 5 weeks later...

i don't know why i didn't write it down when it was originally posted, but now i can't seem to find the pressing info for this release anywhere.

i skimmed through all the pages of the huge Epitaph combo thread (http://vinylcollective.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=42367&start=0) and all that was there that i could find was:

- 500 copies on green (100 of which are autographed)

i know there are black copies. i know there are red copies. anybody know the numbers on those?

also, has it been confirmed that the "UK Version" is, indeed, different? there were rumors that the UK LP was being pressed on black vinyl and on white vinyl, too. can anybody confirm/deny that?

and as long as we're at it, the This Addiction 7" singles... if i'm understanding everything correctly, there's a US version (that will be sold through Hot Topic - and possibly other venues, as well) and a UK version that is limited to 325 copies where the b-side is the acoustic version.

is everything there correct? am i forgetting anything? etc.

thanks for the help.
