donlombardo
Ask Amy for an email maybe? Or when the petition is done, ask her to check with them, she's ought to have some sort of contact with them, maybe? Were they good friends with any bands? Bayside? Maybe go through them? Or look them up on the yellow pages.

derkwithano
wouldn't you think Amy has the ultimate say though?
tokimedo
wouldn't you think Amy has the ultimate say though? yeah, she would, but it wouldnt hurt to get the bands support behind it, even if at least just to let them know that we want it to happen. fenixtx1624
I'd Sign this! Such a good album.
donlombardo
I just listened to The Fold - Secrets Keep You Sick. Should also be pressed, would work very well, with the cool artwork and all. Would be kind of expensive though, I guess, if you'd do it like the cd. I would do anything for that to be pressed.
donlombardo
Updates Niku? Can anyone recommend me more bands that sound like Name Taken, that actually have albums as good as this, or better?

tokimedo
posting up the paragraph i wrote today to get your guys' feedback before i create the petition site.
tokimedo
tell me what you guys think. like i said, im not very good at persuasive writing, or writing at all for that matter, so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE share you criticism, whether it be constructive or not. also, if there is anything you feel i should remove or add, just let me know. thanks name taken may be listed as one of the most underrated bands of all time. their driving style of rock and heart wrenching lyrics mixed with unique vocals were what made them one of the most amazing bands that unfortunately had their run was cut short. Not every one got the chance to experience what name taken did for many before they broke up. the ones that did though, know how much of an impact name taken had on the underground community, and the album HOLD ON is held very close to their hearts. there arent many records (or any at all) that bands put out these days that you can play from start to finish without ever skipping one song. HOLD ON was one that you could not only never skip any song, but also have on repeat and never get sick of. the demand for vinyl in this day and age is high, and the vinyl market is striving. the majority of people that grew up listening to name taken have, and still do collect records. the need for HOLD ON to be pressed to vinyl is one that many would back, as vinyl collectors across the globe agree that name taken's art should be pressed and listened to in its truest form, vinyl. we come to you today as a vinyl collectors community, asking that you consider either pressing the record yourself, or selling the rights to another record label to press HOLD ON for those that want nothing more as a record collector, like myself. Not only is the community interested, but record labels are also very interested. Labels such as Mightier than Sword that have proven that they put out quality releases, would do Name Taken justice if given the rights to press HOLD ON. Even at a small run (300-500), I believe that HOLD ON would sell out and not only make back the cost of pressing the record, but also a good amount of profit. If we cant have name taken back, at the very least, we want what exists of them to be pressed and appreciated in a form that audiophiles across the globe can be satisfied with. If you support the movement to get Name Taken's full length album HOLD ON pressed to vinyl, and would purchase at least one copy if it were to be pressed, please sign your name below. Shitty Rambo
I think you can dump the first paragraph since it kinda sounds like a zine's album review and lead with the third paragraph. Cut to the chase and then support it from there.
tokimedo
Word how's this? Not only is the community interested, but record labels are also very interested. Shitty Rambo
I like the structure, when I get to a pc (on my droid x right now) I'll dice up something using your proposal and you can take what you want from it.
donlombardo
I think it looks great! Just a few things though... Consisten capitalisation of Name Taken throughout the text (and also the Than in MTS). Capitalisation of the beginning letter of every sentence. License - not sell, cause I don't think she'd sell the rights. I took this line: Labels such as Mightier than Sword that have proven that they put out quality releases, would do Name Taken justice if given the rights to press HOLD ON. And made it: Labels such as Mightier Than Sword that have proven that they put out quality releases (such as vinyl reissues of records by blink-182, The Ataris, The Juliana Theory), would do Name Taken justice if given the rights to press HOLD ON. Make sure to get RJ's confirmation on having such a paragraph there... Maybe it's AFS he's talking about? Maybe another record label too? Would Enjoy The Ride be into it, and fulfill it if she gave out the rights? Here's the outcome from that: We come to you today as a vinyl collectors community, asking that you consider either pressing the record yourself, or license the rights to another record label to press HOLD ON for those that want nothing more as a record collector, like myself. Not only is the community interested, but record labels are also very interested. Labels such as Mightier Than Sword that have proven that they put out quality releases (such as vinyl reissues by of records by blink-182, The Ataris, The Juliana Theory), would do Name Taken justice if given the rights to press HOLD ON. Shitty Rambo
I got held over at work last night and woke up to a flat tire this morning which kinda ate up all my free time. Shitty Rambo
Ok, got held over the last 2 nights, I'm drunk and fired up! Here's my contribution. Copypasta what you will, I don't want any criticism hahaha. To Whom It May Concern(title this according), As you may or may not be aware, the vinyl collection community is running at a all time high. We consider ourselves a group of diverse and extremely loyal fans who nonchalantly, yet fiercely seek out our favorite albums on our format of choice. As of late, a very impassioned discussion which has frequently appeared in several of our forums. The famous topic is; Where the hell is Name Taken's Hold On record on vinyl!?. We approach you today in hopes that you will enlist in our conquest of having this deeply beloved and essential piece of artwork placed within our grasps. We feel the share holders, or owners of this magnificent album are (and with all due respect) underestimating the high and unquestionable demand for this album to appear on vinyl. Our community is beyond certain that (even within a small batch of pressings) this album would not only become a highly sought after collectors piece, but with the scene's new and highly excited collector/enthusiast population growing, would almost guarantee this album's survival in our community beyond a first pressing (it could literaly stay in circulation AND SELL!). Aside from pleasing the current and starving fanbase, we honestly feel that depriving new and eccentric collectors from experiencing such a monumental masterpiece is almost an insult to the band and anyone involved with such an amazing album. If you support the movement to have Name Taken's Hold On pressed onto vinyl, then by all means SIGN THIS PETITION! We also urge all non-vinyl-collecting fans of Name Taken to sign this as well. For all we know, this could spark a new flame within the band! They deserve their just-rewards, and our community would honestly weep by such a significant addition to our habitude. -Thank You, The VC Community.
