jgel
OK so I want to get this on one of the 180g recordings, but I see at least 3 different ones. Some have 2 extra songs and I can't find reviews of all three. SO, can anyone comment on the sound of one version to another?
urieburn
I've got the Classic Records 200 gram one. It is incredible Haven't heard the others so i can't say on those, but i assure your happiness with this one.
jblahmaster
I say just go with the 200 gram classic reissue, quite possibly the far superior version to the rest.
gumbercules
Is that readily available still? I've had my eye on it since it came out.
jgel
Is that readily available still? I've had my eye on it since it came out. Yea it is. Its $50. I decided to go with the Music on Vinyl 180g Blue Vinyl 2 lp version. I like limited & colored vinyl
burntwolf
is there a good review site to help pick which pressing? i heard some of the miles davis reissues were bunk but no idea which ones...

Could not find a specific review site. I went to every site that sold a version and read reviews. The Music on Vinyl 180g (blue or black) had good reviews, but I could find nothing but GREAT reviews for the Classic Records 200g. Despite that I got the Blue 180g. burntwolf
i think it is the Prestige reissues that are the ones supp to be not good. the blue Music on Vinyl is still 50 bucks w/ shipping where i saw it... where did you find them? the Classic one is 70 bucks before shipping on elusive disc... The black 180g is everywhere.

oakland
I'm guessing they all sound pretty good. I have one of the early pressings of this and IT sounds great, so I'm guessing a 200g remastered version is awesome.

Dude, I want a side by side review for both. If the 200g sounds that much better I might have to double dip, but I had to the get the blue vinyl while I could still find it. httran
Go to Acoustic Sounds. They probably sell any version of Kind of Blue worth listening to. http://store.acousticsounds.com/
burntwolf
The one on Amazon is sold from Acoustic Sounds.
robx
heads up to you "audiophiles" - very little of the actual range and quality of sound on a record is produced by the thickness. The grooves on a standard weight record are as deep as the grooves on a 180g record. Some of the same plates are used from weight to weight with these reissues. is there some truth to it? yes is it a still a giant moneymaking scam? yes. robx
If you can save $30 and buy an og, or a normal reissue, why buy something more expensive just to buy something more expensive?
mcpherson123
Can someone post pics of this blue one? I'd love to see that.

burntwolf
the music on vinyl package is pretty darn nice. dark blue almost purple vinyl. cool gatefold jacket. haven't listened to it. only thing bummed me out is some seam splits on top of jacket. shipped from music direct/fedex and packaged pretty well so can't really complain too much. still a bummer for a $50 record tho. gumbercules
My Classic version is kind of noisy. :/
burntwolf
you lnow, my Classic 200g "Queix" Donad Byrd Fuego was kinda noisy too. I wonder if it's the case where it needs to be played a few times to get into the 'groove'. Or cleaned maybe. I'll be curious to hear what the Kind of Blue sounds like when it comes. And the 180g one when I play it.
