andydrums
Hi everyone, I'm fairly new to vinyl and just looking for suggestions on what I should purchase. I'm unfortunately on a budget of around £150, and the one that seems to be consistently getting the best reviews everywhere is the Pioneer PL-990. The only problem I can see with it, is that I won't be able to record onto my PC. While this isn't a huge necessity, I do have a couple of vinyl-only releases that I'd like to put on my i-pod if I can. If anyone has any suggestions for good players within my price range, they'd be really appreciated. Cheers, Andy
benjo09
For £150 you could maybe find a Project Debut III or a second hand Rega
mdb
You can use any turntable to record mp3s. You just need to buy an RCA to USB adapter (under $30) and download the software for free (there are ton of choices from a bunch of different sites). I would highly recommend saving for a Pro-Ject Debut III. I recently got one and am blown away by how good it sounds.

After 15 years of digitizing wax through expensive sound cards and break-out boxes I finally bit it and bought the Pro-Ject. Only had time to rip one single so far but it sounded great! The Insound discount was too good to pass up..
moonbeams
You will not regret waiting until you have a 200 pound budget so you can by a pro-ject debut. I can make good sounding mp3 cords with just a wire going out of the receiver's headphone jack into the computer's mic jack.
