Guest
come on.. no ones bought their dad a birthday present ever?
papermonsters
I always buy my dad antiques. I don't know if your dad is into that kind of thing. I bought my dad some really old railroad lanterns once and he was so pumped. Beer works too.

bengalimenace
Just tell him that your gift this year is letting him live, but you can only give this gift once. That way you have a whole year to think of a better gift or plan a murder.
scottheisel
My siblings and I are going through the same thing with my dad (whjo turns 61 next week). We've decided on getting him an e-reader of some sort, but now the debate is do we get him a Nook or a Kindle -- and it's been dragging on for a week now. mhansel411
A coffin. Just kidding. Take him to a sports game or some junk if he's into that. Or buy him some records.
mrc
i found that getting my folks event tickets (sports, music, plays...) are way more appreciated than a regular gift. My parents have everything so there is really no use of looking unless i get a specific request. I think the event/memories are better than a tie or some shit. Team Avatar
What does he like to do/not do? I know, for example, that I can always buy my dad books. He loves to read.
jemsklile
I always get my dad autobiographies because he works the local university library...and loves autobiographies. When I lived by Wrigley I got us tickets for a Wrigley Field tour which he loved because he was/is a big baseball fan.
tylerrr
The best gift I've ever got my dad was a zippo lighter and flask combo with his initials engraved on both. I just thought of what my dad does every day and unfortunately it's smoking and drinking... But at least he loved the gift.

I can say that this will be a fantastic gift, especially for someone that loves reading, hates the space books take up and wants something lighter to hold.
