Anyone else on here live in Austin... or is staying in Austin for FFF Fest? I'm flying in on Thursday the 3rd and am planning on checkin out some bars and stuff that night before all the shows start. controlthebleeding Posted October 5, 2011 Share Posted October 5, 2011 If, by hanging out, I can get all of you people to NOT go out on 6th street... that is what I'll do. i live here, and would normally recommend that, but doing so might not be a good move, there are gonna be a ton of post shows in the red river area during that time. now if you just want to hang and not be downtown, good luck, any cool bar is nowhere near that area. but if you are downtown on 6th, i recommend casino el camino and jackalope. mohawk (tip ACE the waiter.. huge burly guy with a beard), beerland. if you get a chance EGOs is down the street from where the event is, and opposite of downtown on congress and half a block south of congress and riverside. really small dive bar in a apt complex. g&s lounge is also nice. tip jimmy big and he'll take care of you and won't kick you out for even looking at him wrong. i'd recommend lalas but that place is packed by 10pm on the weekends. love those ladies there.
