jerseypride
If, like me, you grew up in the 80s, you probably have great memories of how truly great Eddie Murphy once was. Bill Simmons recently wrote this terrific column about Eddie's career arc. It's long but it's spot on and worth reading: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/7189740/eddie-murphy
almightyseancore
i've always been a huge fan of his early stand up, and most of his movies from the 80s. not so much anything after that, tho.

xadamhudsonx
This was a pretty entertaining article, even to someone like me who isn't the biggest fan of Eddie Murphy in general. I especially liked the little side comment hypothesizing about how Axel Foley may have in fact been gay. I never thought about it, but thinking back on the movies and the points the writer made it seems plausible.
weepingwillow
That was a great article, I like Grantland quite a bit. Good writers there.
jerseydave77
I remember loving Raw when I was younger, it was one of my introductions to hard-edged comedy. I rewatched it a few years back and couldn't believe the amount of homophobia. That stuff was over the top even 25 years ago and really taints my memory of the routine.
