Fartcat
I'm heading to Chicago in April, and we are spending a night in Ann Arbor to visit family. I have already been told about some great record stores out there, but I'm looking for some concerts to check out while I'm there. What are some good venues in both of these cities? I like punk, indie, folk, and emo, so what venues should I look into? Thanks in advance!
steventangent
woodruff's in ypsilanti and the blind pig in ann arbor. i don't know what record stores you've been told about, but underground sounds, pj's, wazoo, and encore are all walkable in downtown a2. encore is a don't-miss. eat at jerusalem garden. start an argument with a hippie. life in a2 is basically the exact same as portlandia in a lot of ways. so enjoy that. idreamofpunk
What is the date rage you'll be in Chicago? I'm partial to the Vic, Bottom Lounge, Reggies, Lincoln Hall, Schubas, the Beat Kitchen, and the Metro at times.
steventangent
i like the subterranean in chicago, too. i'm by no means an expert on chicago venues, but every time i've been to the subt, ick, and metro, i've had a good time.
