deadreckoning Posted March 7, 2012 Share Posted March 7, 2012 I am curious if anyone else has had a similar issue with a misspressed record. I have one in particular that sounds and looks fine on one side, but when the other side plays the tone arm swings back and forth. This causes the later tracks to sound muddy and distorted. It isn't warped, but appears that the grooves aren't centered properly on the record. Could one of the stampers shifted while pressing the record? This is the only time i have noticed something like this. The grooves look oblong while the record is spinning. Just curious if it's happened to others... AlexH. Posted March 8, 2012 Share Posted March 8, 2012 My 1st press fun. - Aim & Ignite is off-center real bad on the B-side. Only reason I bought the 2xLP repress.
