thomasj182
Just got back from my HT and saw there were a few Modest Mouse albums, Good News, Alaska, and another one, I think. If anyone needs them lemme know I'm heading back over near the mall tonight or tomorrow. There is also a few other albums people are usually looking for, No Doubt's Tragic Kingdom, Deftones, Boxcar Racer, At the Drive In, and some other shit. almightyseancore
What record is Alaska? And I'm assuming the other is The Moon & Antartica that they have? i think by alaska they meant antarctica. poster may not be too familiar with them. also, fruit that ate itself, sad sappy sucker, we were dead, and no ones first are all still in print, and very common in record stores. thomasj182
if they have The Lonesome Crowded West, i'm in. Let me look up the cover I'll know it if I see it. Hang on I'll get back to you.
comesleep
Ha they won't have Lonesome, especially not in a Hot Topic. Hopefully they repress that soon, because it's my favorite record ever. You probably saw the MM records that are still in print, but I don't know.
thomasj182
I'm pretty sure it was The Moon & Antarctica, Good News, and We Were Dead. Again I don't know their albums I know they get talked about often enough on here to believe that people are looking for these though. comesleep
Ah yeah that's understandable. The lead singer/guitarist's record label has been really good about keeping the records they own the rights to in print since it formed. I know Good News used to be really hard to find until Epic repressed it awhile ago.

I did pick up The Moon & Antarctica for a pretty good price from someone on here and that's as recent as i'm willing to go.
masonxstorm91
i need a copy of the moon & antartica and we were dead.... we were dead more than antartica because the latter tends to go for $

I am working on getting the first couple modest mouse albums repressed, the original label owner died back in 2000 so its been tough to track down who controls the masters but with some luck I should be able to get an answer one way or another in the next few months. hobohunter48
There was a thread awhile back where someone had said that the masters for Lonesome Crowded West had been lost which is why it hasn't been repressed.

I was under the impression that this was the case. Which sucks.

I'm pretty sure Isaac has the rights now, but it's true the LCW masters were lost. According to this they're being remastered, it's just a matter of releasing them. http://board.interstate-8.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=
mcpherson123
So what exactly is the process of remastering masters that are not present? I don't understand what they're trying to say. If the LCW master tapes are lost, what are they remastering?

mcpherson123
Ick. If they happened to have a the tape source bounced to a lossless digital file, that might be ok.
davepriz
i can deal with a digital source for $20 instead of NEVER owning it. but yeah, kinda sucks.
stranaspank
They had We Were Dead, Good News, M&A, Fruit, and SSS with them on tour.
Guest
Repress of Building Nothing Out Of Something would be cool, as well as a pressing of Interstate 8 and cassette reissues of Tube Fruit and Uncle Bunny. LCW is overrated, you wankers.
