timbrh2001
whats the point of getting a $500 turntable that you arent going to be satisfied having to manually change it and spend another $150 on a button that changes the speed? Maybe you like the turntable for everything else other than the manual speed change? The Carbon is only $400 though I only paid $280 for mine, shipped. timbrh2001
eh, to each their own. i just think its a bit ridiculous. Well I do think having to remove the platter to change the speed manually each time is a little annoying but I love everything else about the Carbon. I guess, I'd deal with it eventually by adding a speedbox down the line. Thing is, people might only have a $400 budget at the time they want to buy a TT, then down the road want to invest another $150 into it. Kind of break up the costs, so to speak. Wait, there's music on the other side of the record. This shatters my whole world view

True but removing a platter/mat, using the belt hook to change the pulley setting, then replacing the platter/mat is just a tad more cumbersome than flipping over a record. Not saying its a deal breaker but it certainly is easier to just press a button.
