bigbruise
When I got mine out, the first thing I did was go home and put a dip in. I just let it drool out my mouth into the sink, I needed my nicotine.
hobohunter48
I got all four out my senior year of high school. I only had local anesthetic and laughing gas. After I came off of it, the pain was a bitch but after a day or two it was gone.
JLEWCHUCKEROO
i think your recovery time really depends on your reaction to the drugs they give you during and after the procedure. all four of mine were "impacted" and had to be cut out of my mouth. i was knocked out for it. that same night, i was doing fine without the Vicodin they gave me and was back to eating solid food comfortably within a week. i think i was just really lucky. adamlikesmusic
Getting my wisdom teeth taken out was one of the coolest experiences I've had. They were all impacted, so they had to be shattered and removed piece by piece. I don't remember much else. I got to the office at about 10am, they told me to count down from 10 to 1, and next thing I knew it was 8pm and I was on the couch at home watching Zack and Miri Make a Porno. I ate macaroni & cheese from various restaurants for the next 3 days, and used ~half of a pain pill (they prescribed me like 100 of them - so unnecessary). Pain was minimal, and although mine was on a Friday, and I was back to classes Monday, I'd have probably been ready sooner.
turnstiles
I think two of mine are impacted and the other one is just hanging out. I'm going to look into the Chase Care Card so I can pay it off in installments. That sounds like a good idea. I opted out of the consultation because that would just be more money and while on the phone canceling the consultation the woman asked me if I would like to just have the surgery at the same time in the same place without the consult so that's what I opted for. Still super nervous, I have to walk and talk at my job as a waiter so I hope I can talk after 48 hours. From what you guys are saying I should be pretty good at the two day mark with just mild discomfort. I woke up today with huge amounts of pain in the area which has been giving me trouble. It's so bad right now that it feels like I have an ear infection in my left ear from all the swelling. Ugh, I'm still dreading this but maybe I'm just overreacting. The last time I had surgery was one of my many facial reconstructive surgeries from when I was a kid and got mauled by a Pit Bull, maybe I'm just assuming that all surgeries are that severe and that's why I'm dreading it. noodle
I am 31 and I mine likely aren't coming in, per the DDS. Some cases don't sound miserable, but I feel bad for those who have them that are impacted. Ouch!

You'll be fine by day 2. don't sweat it. If your dentist doesn't do chase care credit, then maybe you should call some other local dentists who do and peace out. take your xrays with you. Derek™
I forgot about that. I remember a whole section of my jaw and chin was tingly-numb for a while. Has to do with the deadening and severing of certain nerves that run along the bottom of your mouth. Either way, I'm glad you pulled through alright. Just take it easy for a bit and you'll be fine.
