sinisterkidd
you cant get to them by just pulling the top off, i think i would have to take the bottom off and the their's still a bunch of stuff around it And what am i suppose to do with the wire going into it? swemoll
The RCA isn't a PCB mount? Meaning, it's not mounted physically to a green board that has all the other components on it? Cause if it is, there shouldn't be any wires connected to it. In which case, you hopefully can poke something through an open end on the other side. But there is a chance it's closed on the other end as well. PCB mount RCA sockets:
thebiglebowski
Trying to think outside the box. We'll get this. First of all, you probably can't permanently eff up the receiver. Wires can be reattached. So don't be afraid to try and take it apart. Don't be reckless either. The part that is stuck is what, plastic with a metal piece around it? Hard to really tell from the pic. Can you take a safety pin, lightly tap it into the plastic at a 45 degree angle and then work it out?
swemoll
The part that is stuck is what, plastic with a metal piece around it? That plastic is part of the RCA socket. It's either red/white showing L/R signal. The part that is stuck is the metal tip of a male RCA connector. The metal piece alone.

thebiglebowski
Super glue the parts that are broken? ie, glue that metal ring, put the cord back on, wait 5 minutes, then pull it off?
ajxd
Oh my gosh so many bad things being mentioned here. What you need you need to do first is tell the model of your Marantz. From there You can easily be guided. Most all Marantz receivers have 4 set screws, two on each side. Some models have 4 more set screws on the back, all 8 connecting the outer shell to the main chassis. Once these 4 or 8 screws are removed, the outer shell can be removed. From there, the RCA connections will have one of two back pieces. One will be an exposed circle, with a single wire either soldered or clipped to the edge of the circle. The other will be a capped end. Also with a single wire either soldered or clipped. If its exposed, simply use something to push it out. If its capped... Well lets cross that bridge if we come to it. thebiglebowski
^ Dude clearly knows what he is talking about, whereas I was coming at this with basic household tools / knowledge. Hopefully you have it by now. Either way, bowing out.
ajxd
I used to rebuild amps and turntables for a living. And Marantz was my personal favorite.
sinisterkidd
Its a 2215, I took the top off and you cant get to the plugs. so im trying to take the bottom off but one screw is stripped and I cant get it out. How do I go about this?
ajxd
They make specialty drill bits for that. Or try using a rubberband at the end of the screwdriver.

gabpower
Oh my! Such a good idea to use a rubber band! I often come across stripped screws and I'll try this next time. Thanks!
ajxd
Also I'm going to stop you while you're ahead. The back of the RCA connections are capped. swemoll

sinisterkidd
so thats what it looks like, i dont think its capped. Im pretty sure I see the jack (bottom right) I tried pushing it out but it wont budge. I think the super glue seeped in there and I fucked myself even more... so at this point im thinking im gunna have to take it in somewhere. Any suggestion? ajxd
Well few options. One being drill bit. Very small drill bit. And a hammer. Tap it out. Or use a drill. Find a local hifi shop. Or if all else fails, ship it to me.

ajxd
I doubt you'd want to go through the task of removing all the connections from the inside... so outside. I would start with the tapping method first. Is your model the 2215 or 2215B?
