Team Avatar
I use iTunes, and don't really want to use anything else cause it works too well with my iPhone. I hate compilations because I don't want duplicate copies of songs I already have, with one from the album and one from the compilation. ( I also hate how they add random artists to my iphone so scrolling down takes so much longer ). Usually I delete the comp. duplicate, but then I can't listen to the compilation in whole. What do you guys do to solve this? if you don't wanna answer me, talk about your library in general!
gabe005
Make a Playlist for the full comp. Subbing in the missing comp songs with the actual album versions.
Twistedshabazz
In i tunes i go to get info and mark an album as a compilation. Then on my ipod it shows up under compilations and not all the artists in the main artist list.makes it easy to find them all and you can have both songs
Team Avatar
What about if I'm listening to a band in itunes? Does it skip compilations than as well? ( I know I could check, skip song if comes on but idk ) I think I'm partial to this solution: Make a Playlist for the full comp. Subbing in the missing comp songs with the actual album versions. IanRees
I always rename comps with the artist name as "V-A Comp Name" and then rename the songs w/ Artist Name - Song Name
NoFxpunkguy
Thanks for the ideas to try. The tony sly comp has really made my iTunes unorganized. Tomorrow I'm marking as a compilation and seeing how that works

kidamnesiac
Keep comps. Set the comp flag appropriately. Skip duplicate songs when they come up if they annoy you that much. Side note: setting the comp flag should be enough to keep random artists with only one song out of your Artist list in your iPod/Phone.
