Does anyone with kids (or young nieces, nephews, etc.) have anything to say about M Is For Metal or Never Mind Your Ps And Qs? I'm interested for my little ones, but $21 a piece for a boardbook is WAY steep.

Finally saw these guys for the first time last night (which ruled) but I found it odd that Todd wasn't singing. At the risk of sounding like an idiot, is he not the guy singing a good number of songs ("Superbowl Patriot," "Fuck The Border" or "Cut Into The Earth" for example) from Empires on? Someone tell me I have not imagined this.

I too nominated Emergency & I and would vote for it again in a heartbeat. I remember looking into why there seemed to be no LPs from these guys and ran across something on the DeSoto site that basically said the band never showed interest in vinyl so they never pressed any. So yeah, like, let's make this happen.

Apologies if this is mentioned somewhere, but I can't find it: does the LP come with a download code for the MP3s? Ordered anyway, just curious.

I think if you're going to do this, the mouth should be the same color as the vinyl. And if you're really going for the homage, you should go blue: I would also watch out that Jim Philips doesn't get wind of this. He doesn't always take kindly to people reinterpreting his work.

Had the exact same experience with them. Complained to CS and they sent me a new one with the refrigerator box treatment and they still managed to crease the jacket. Weak. Again, had the same thing happen twice now. I think a lot of these big resellers have people posting their stuff without a lot of knowledge and stuff gets posted in the wrong category a lot. Seems like it must be a fairly common occurrence considering how quickly they wrote of the discs they did send.

I got the same giant box treatment from them, but that was AFTER my first copy (Radioheads "The Bends") was shipped in a floppy, non-padded, plastic DHL envelope with no cardboard. The thing was at least eight inches too long for the LP, so it wasn't even like it was snug in there. Thing was absolutely destroyed by the time it got to me. To their credit, they sent me a new one (in the aforementioned giant box) immediately, but they never really acted like this was anything out of the ordinary. Ah well, what should I expect, ordering from fucking Hot Topic?

I was definitely disappointed in the re-release of Fate's Got A Driver. I think they were striving for what they would eventually do with The Moon My Saddle, but didn't quite know how to hit it yet. The result is a wildly uneven and mismatched vocal performance, but then that's just one man's opinion. If Fate's was a great leap forward for the band, the re=recorded version is the micro-leap they needed to get to Moon.

Just curious as to whether Frightened Rabbit's "Midnight Organ Fight" and Two Cow Garage's "III" ever got domestic vinyl releases. Anyone care to clear this up for me?

Do you mean the Split Lip version? The Chamberlain has been pretty easy to find in my experience (likely due to the terrible vocal re-recordings. )
