  1. The $ is shorthand for money in this situation. I believe the signs reads "Need money for karate lessons" not "Need $4 for karate lessons."
  2. Hmm, if they did I somehow remained oblivious to it. The only group I hear of hanging out in the ANF is the "rainbow people." However, it is possible they did it when I was away for awhile. I tend to head south for a month or so every summer. I definitely wouldn't be surprised if they did though.
  3. I've heard of Waynesboro, but never been there. I also haven't encountered anyone as bad as the people in this article. Some intolerant people sure, but not that overtly anyway.
  4. Oy. I know there's those horrible hellish areas of PA I'd much rather soon forget exist. Since I do live in a major metropolitan area, I would love to live in my blue state delusion. But that's not possible. The human race frustrates me sometimes.....no scratch that....quite often. I'm sure the metropolitan areas are fine. However I am in the middle of the Pennsylvania Wilds so no such luck here. At least there are people around here with some sense, however few they may be.
  5. I heard this one awhile ago. I thought it was hysterical.
  6. This is not surprising at all. The largest Aryan Nations faction in the country is in Potter County, PA. And like Andrew said, the Lehigh Valley is full of douchebag skinheads. I have seen them show up at certain punk shows as well. You can find a ton of racists in our state if you know where to look. Potter County is like 30-45 minutes from me. I try to avoid it at all costs. But they do have giant signs at the county lines welcoming everyone to "God's Country." I try to get through there as fast as possible.
  7. yea, i have no desire to smoke anymore. i quite around on april 3rd so it'll be around 9 months come january...f ucking a... i can't wait till i hit that one year mark.. im excited as it's the longest i've ever gone. March 12th ish for me. I am excited for the year mark and hopefully by then the desire will be gone. The longest I had quit before this time was like a week.
  8. it'll be 8 months for me at the beginning of the year. i quit cold turkey. i was just tired of getting sick every few months. those things, as much as i love them, would wear down my immune system and i would get sick very easily. i quit about 3 times before. each being drastically shorter than the other.. now it's for good. i have noo urge to smoke now. i drink an still don't need a cigarette. it's quite nice that i can run a short distance and not have salive running down my mouth and my tongue hanging out. Sounds like we quit around the same time, March for me so 8 months in January, however I do still have cravings. It sucks.
  9. I've bought from them many times with no problems. I have not sold to them before though.
  10. Enjoy your lunches, the Steelers take the division!
  11. Weakerthans are definitely a good pick for me as well.
  12. I'm pretty sure I could get past it, however I used to smoke and still crave it from time to time so if I ended up being around her a lot I would probably cave and start up again.
  13. So does that mean you only date girls who only eat healthy food all the time? Don't drink? Etc? Or are you just picking on smoking as THE bad habit you can't deal with?
  14. I quit in March. I was really wanting to smoke again a few weeks ago, but so far I have been hanging tough.
  15. I'll consider it. Is there anything else you want throw in to the deal? Just asking, because I can probably get '77 for 8 bucks at my local store. Looking at your list I don't see anything obvious that you would want that I have and would part with. I just figured I'd throw that out there if you wanted it and were having a hard time getting it.
  16. I have the KD coaster and would be willing to work it in with a trade for that Talking Heads --'77 I pm'd you about awhile ago. Let me know your terms. Oh fuck, that wasn't you , that was Scripted Rain. Damn I'm drunk sorry. If your trade doesn't go through I have that Talking Heads LP too.
  17. I like 8th Continent better than Silk. Never tried any special flavors though just original/plain, because that is the kind of person I am.
  18. First time I saw them, but as was said up a few comments Soilent Green was in an accident. Dissaray opened and then Gwar just played a longer set.
  19. I was in Criminal Records in June. Definitely didn't find any amazing scores. Congratulations on a good haul.
  20. There's orange in there? I'm colorblind, I can't tell. I'm not and I sure don't see any orange in there either. I am starting to think maybe it was meant to say red and orange are two colors that make people hungry and not that because this is red and orange it is making people hungry.
  21. it sounds like you've read very little of his poetry either. common themes, sure, but the way their written is different. Just because there are a series of poems from the point of view of a child for instance doesn't mean he's only writing thing so much as he's got a common theme running through those poems. Also HWM is an emo band in the old school since of the word (ie Fugazi, Embrace, etc) I've certainly not read all of his poems, but I don't think several hundred pages qualifies as very little, it isn't like I read 10 poems. It seemed like they went as follows: I got drunk, fucked some bitch, I hate her, I threw her out, I took a shit and realized I missed her. And repeat. edit/addition I know I'm in the minority and I'm not going to change anyone's mind, and I don't want to. I'm just glad people are reading and found something they like. Everyone has different tastes. I had just woken up and was cranky. Carry on.
  22. Me either. I have pretty much no idea what half, or more, of these posts are even about. I don't feel like I am missing anything though.
  23. I strongly disagree hes amazing but then again I can really relate to alot of the stuff he writes about and personally went through plus hes just funny as hell and all his writing is really base on his own experiences but then again thats just my opinion to each his own Well in an effort of fairness and goodwill since you didn't just jump all over me, I haven't read much of his prose. His poetry is certainly overrated. He wrote like 4 different poems and then it seemed like he just changed the titles and maybe changed a word or two. He would have a great line once in awhile but overall I just got tired of it all being the same.
