  1. My lady friend..err, brother and I. He's on the left, I'm on the right. I'm 21 now so it doesn't matter much, other than that it's cool, but using his ID and passing as twins is no problem. I miss having chops.
  2. It's my 21st, work let me out early, and I'm going to get very drunk. Wish me luck.
  3. then where's the challenge? ha. That's why I still collect Get Up Kids records.
  4. I bought them last week as well. I also purchased the set of 5 from vc because I made the same decision as you. I really love collecting get up kids records, but completeing the collection is going to take a while despite already owning alot of it. I figured I needed to find a band that: is currently putting out new music on the vinly format. that has pressed previous releases (especially with mulitple pressings, but not a shitload). won't cost hundreds of dollars to complete their full collection. doesn't have a huge back catalog to collect. will most likely continue to press records for a good bunch of years. MTB seem to fit perfectly so I've been picking up all their stuff I can find.
  5. People at work who... ...don't understand that the huge rotating door is automatic; and is asking you to "please step forward" because one of your two dumbass friends is too close to the back door which has sensors to stop it from spinning if you stop walking. Otherwise it won't stop spinning until you're out of it. Where are they in such a rush to that they need to squeeze three of themselves inbetween the sme two door panels? Everyone keeps walking forward for another step or two, and it stops, and asks them again. They walk tripping all over themselves getting through this door becuase they cant grasp the concept of 'one at a time'. I have been through the door many times, and of course with no trouble. Even the first time. This is of course right in the lobby 20ft away from the entrance to the restaurant I work at. It gets on my nerves really badly. ...don't bother walking more than two steps into the lounge/bar area, don't immediately see the bar, and turn around and ask where it is. These two steps are two small (but wide) steps up to the left of the restaurant entrance and then if you walk another five into this room in which you'll have already seen tvs and people drinking, you will see the bar is just hiding around the corner. I think people are just babies for the most part, or maybe just lazy, I don't know. Having this same situation occur 10-20 times night is painful.
  6. I'd have trouble parting with any of my get up kids records, but I'm eyeing that copy of End Serenading you have on your trade list. Not to be rude and make my own rules, but I'll buy it/trade for something non-guk related.
  7. I just bought a copy of this on ebay a couple weeks ago for $20. That might be your best bet.
  8. They are in Western NY, but I'm not sure if they are any where else. I think it may be because we are so close to the boarder. Tim Horton's is the best. Toasted everything bagel with cream cheese and an ice cap. Best fast food ever. Get that same bagel, but tell them to add bacon. It sounds a bit odd, but I kid you not, it is amazing!
  9. Red Baron is where it's at! I had a ton of those Totino's party pizzas in the past few weeks, but just the cheese ones. You guys know what's up. Red Baron doesn't taste frozen or fresh to me, it really seems to have its own thing going for it. Totino's are really the most far off pizza tasting "pizza item" out there. I eat them, normally as a last resort.
  10. I'm thinking it might not be a bad idea if I did as well. I must say that since I joined this board has been nothing but wonderful! Basically everyone here is very cool and the coutesy level is seriously way high. I used to be on the get up kids board alot, but it has since died down alot. It was alot of fun but folks didn't get along. You certainly can't expect people to, but the fact that everyone here does is a testament to this boards awesomeness.
  11. The variety of questions was definitely awesome. It didn't seem all directly aimed towards one thing, despite most of it actually being so. I see that as good interview skills. I also feel it's nice to see Rivers talking and conversing and seeming normal. It's a relief, haha.
  12. I'll third this one. Delicious. Fuck it. Fourthed. I like mine on rye with lots of black pepper in the soup. Any form of hot cider works well for me. Rum in it is a plus.
  13. You sir, are correct. Watching horror movies on Halloween is always a great time! I love how theres like 5 channels right now that have steady horror movies playing. AMC is especially awesome this time of year. One of my favorites, which wont be shown in the US anytime soon, is Dead Alive/Brain Dead.
  14. Haha, my mom made the same remark. Minus about buying one. My reply was something to the tune of "Oh great, so all 200 people that still listens to records can buy one". She laughed. Also, one of the best parts about it is that its so easy to make. I really appreciate all the comments on this. Thanks.
  15. I think it comes down to how long the period was between pressings (assuming if the first pressing is more than five years before that first it's probably a bit more rare.) From there I kind of look at it in the numbers that were pressed way. Throwing a 7" in for a trade offer always helps, I mean, they're getting TWO items for one. That always sounds promising.
  16. This is basically a really simple idea on how to store the sleeve of whatever record you're playing. I know a couple of you had wanted to see this from the thread about displaying records, but I decided to make a new thread for it hoping that more people will see and use this idea for themselves. Anyways, it's simple, here's what mine looks like: It basically consists of a random cut length of wood (this one is 14" long piece of 3" interlocking floorboard which provided a groove to better hold the sleeve. I cut it down to 2".) I nailed a couple right-angle brackets into the wall and those seem to hold it just fine. I have run into problems with 2X and 3X LPs but this can be solved by using a thicker piece of wood and having a wider groove. I bought stickers at Michaels.
  17. I'm not a huge FF player or fan, but VII is an incredible game. I would love to see this on PS3.
  18. fantastic. i will steal this idea. Please do. I think it's an often overlooked solution.
  19. I always figured this would lead to chafing and was timid to try it. Your nonchalant attitude towards dick spinning might give me some faith. I always found it annoying to have to set the sleeve somewhere while playing records, so I found a great double solution. It's just a 12" piece of wood on the wall above my turntable that reads "Now Playing" on the front. Its kind of neat I guess, but it's more purposeful than anything. I also have a pretty sweet retro stand. It's got the "moon lander" style legs with sliding doors and the wood of my turntable matches wonderfully. With the wood framed Realistic speakers it's pretty dope I think. I have a few records in glass frames.
  20. I'm in the same boat. However, I do feel as though it is a loss. They are also extremly nice dudes.
