Oh so I guess I have been having all of those problems. You would know better I suppose. Let's have an even more useless conversation about how Mac's are better than PC's.

It's because the vinyl is able to shift around inside the paper sleeve. It causes minor wear most commonly called "paper scuffs" these are not scratches.

Because I have never had any of the problems you described in the 8 years I've had mine and I consistantly have quality playback with no flux in speed...and I never have to replace a belt. The only downside to the technics I have is that there is no auto return. Everything else is flawless.

To each his own...but I think some people are treating their records like babies made of glass and it's really unnecessary. Unless you have a stereo system that cost you more than a college education you don't need 3 kinds of cleaners and all that to get decent sound out of it. All your efforts seriously won't be counting for much if you don't have the system to back it up.

FALSE STATEMENT.

What you have are paper scuffs and they aren't any big deal at all and a lot of records will come like this...especially if you mail order. Also there is no reason in the world to clean a new record like that. You're more likely to damage it than you are to clean some sort of invisible dirt or small amount of paper or whatever off of it. These are things that are meant to be played and enjoyed. Take care of them but don't kill yourself with stuff like that.

Belt drives suck plain and simple. They get off speed really easily with no way or at least no easy way of fixing it. They're more expensive but if you can get a direct drive you'll never have to deal with this and if something does happen it's as simple as turning an easily accesable knob right on top.

haha good catch on the D4 LP. Not sure what happened there. It's like all of the Title and price info just got wiped out on it. Just put shirts back up on the site. I think I took them down before the fest because I was planning on giving them all away out there. I ended up coming back with some but I never bothered to put them back up on the site. I honestly don't think the dude is scamming anyone. Looking at the dispute it was clearly paypal initiated not something he did intentionally. Keep in mind that not only was the money taken from you but it was not just given back to him. It's in limbo so he doesn't have your cash personally.

I actually sent that guy almost $100 in stuff and freaked out when I saw the paypal thing. Luckily it was an order he legitimatly placed and there was a tracking number. It still took like two weeks to resolve though...even with total confirmation that he had received it!

Tiny little update here. The store will officially be open on March 15th. I tried to do a "soft" opening earlier but there was just too much to do. Still is! Anyway come down on Saturday if you're in the area! Also there are some new photos in the 1-2-3-4 GO! RECORDS FLICKR SET including this one of my kick ass front counter. Which apparently won't show up in this thread for some reason...anyway Things have already been a little rearranged and some records are actually in those shelves now.

I don't know if anyone would be interested or not but I have some extra covers left over if you got a mangled one from somewhere. If you live in the US $5 via paypal should cover the postage, the mailer and a little for cover itself. If you want to order some other stuff let me know and I could add in a cover for like $2 more.

Yeah Damaged Goods is doing it. I believe theirs is coming out in April or May. I haven't been to their site in awhile but I know they finally announced that they putting it out a few weeks ago. About the repress...yeah I didn't know the repress would be different until Steve was like "We got it remastered and it sounds 100 times better". I think the original sounds great but if the man says it sounds better that's cool with me. Cover and insert will also be at least slightly different. I'll post details as they come in but I don't expect this to happen for at least two to three months.

I might actually. Depending on how things go. Glad you like the record! I think it came out sounding amazing. Super loud and clear. The next press will actually sound even better. They remastered it.

I decided to come to my senses and officially open on the 15th. There's still so much work to do that there's no way I could try to do it today. Every time you think you're about done there's 20 other things that have to get done. Anyway, sorry to anyone who was going to come down today. The 15th for sure though.
