The Replacements thing is so long it'd have to be a double if it was going to sound any good. I was actually thinking of doing it in plain white hand stamped sleeves like the "Stink" 12" awhile back but I never ended up going through with it. This was during my 12inchaphobia years. I'm over it now so maybe next year. You think 500 to 1000 people would actually be interested in owning such a thing 2 or 3 years after the fact though? As for Hickey records...soonish. I want to get this Big Rig thing out first. I got the demo and the EP mastered together last week. Now It's just down to the band figuring out exactly what they want to have on the record. In a perfect world this will be 10 or 11 songs on a 12" and CD.

She thought VGS were assholes too and filled me on on the mini-panic the whole debacle caused.

Epitaph didn't sue. I was actually in contact with someone at the label shortly after the 7" came out and they just wanted it to go away as quietly as possible. VGS got caught being waaaaaaaaaay fucked up and it was an ugly scene.

I can never understand why people pay so much for Misfits bootlegs. Other than the really nice looking boots of their legit 7"s none of those are worth a shit. Poor quality audio and/or ended up on the box set.

I'd actually recommend that you go ahead and make 500 if you think you can eventually get rid of that many. You'll get rid of some set up costs and if you get the covers made at Imprint you'll save money there too.

My 3 cents. Use United for the pressing. Any problems I've had in 6 years of using them have been minor. Use Imprint Indie Printing for the covers if you're not making them yourself For mastering...if you're trying to be cheap just use United. They can do it in house and it's cheaper than Aardvark now. My last few records were done that way and they sound good.

Got my LP today. Vinyl is a bit scratchy though and the cover is just a white jacket with a sticker on it. Sort of lame but at least I have it.

Officially out of No Matter Where We Go now. The other two are still available though.

I have pretty crazy luck. I figure as long as my evil twin isn't working in the store I'll find at least a few things that have slipped through the cracks.

local record stores. They get so much in a daily basis and the people who price them are fairly ignorant about punk and 90's emo stuff. Either things are entirely underpriced or they do stupid shit like price SSD's "How We Rock" at $100.

It does sound like the guy is jerking you around. However media mail can take up to 6 weeks. It's rare but it happend to me a lot this summer with things I sent to folks. People were uptight as all get out...but in the end you do get what you pay for. Media mail is cheap because it's as slow as you can possibly go. I was told by someone who's been with the USPS for over 22 years that they do media mail last and that they don't move shipments until they fill up the bin they use for Media mail. So if it's a slow week or two it could take even longer. She also explained to me that the summer is the worst time to send stuff media because that's when a lot of people go on vacation.

Most people press the records and then etch off the etchings in the run off grooves to cover their tracks.

I think the highest dollar amount was around $250 for White Stripes "White Blood Cells" Red Vinyl on Sympathy. Highest number of watchers is somewhere in the 30's. I tend to get these auctions with a ton of watchers that end up not going for very much. It's baffling. I've done a bunch of stuff like paying $1.99 each for two copies of the Evergreen 12" and selling them both for $80+. I do stuff like that all the time. Half of the stuff in my ebay auctions was bought for $1.99 or $2.99 and frequently goes for 5 to 20 times that

It may take you awhile to get the first one...but whatever you do, don't pay too much for it. It's not their best material to say the least. The one on Cheetahs and the Fat one are good though.

People aren't supposed to tell people I'm a dick. It's funnier if they find out on their own. Who's out there spilling the beans!? And although I am given to hyperbole...I feel like I stop a hair short of arrogance. Also it was an interview about my label. What am I going to do, not talk about myself and the label when asked direct questions about it? Just saying. On the whole I think most people who meet me come away with thinking I'm decent dude. If I come off like a dick it's because one of two reasons. 1. 3 Sparks and 4 Beers in two hours. 2 I'm trying to make a joke that goes over like a brick. I quit drinking after the fest so all you have to watch out for are bomb jokes now.
