Oh, how they laughed...

A brief search, and couldn't find any online songs from Heat Dust.

I'm looking forward to it. They're kinda like Flenser's answer to Whirr or Nothing, and VC flipped over those guys.

Jim O'Rourke poster spotted...

Wait, so this is just a live album? I thought we were finally getting LP2?
Glad I didn't cough up that $35. This is cool, but it can wait.

Interested in White Pony.
-
Sounds like we could be getting an announcement in the coming weeks.

I'm actually a little conflicted on the new Mamaleek. I've only given it 2 solid listens, so I'll need to see if it grows on me.
It's a pretty quiet album, more moody than anything they've put out before. Lots of "groovy" stuff, I guess? I do find myself kinda missing the intensity of their last LP, though.
But man, Nothing But Loss and Already There are so tasty.

SEASON 2 PREMIERES JULY 26TH!

Safe to assume everybody's following this show? Because it's probably the best thing Adult Swim's put out since Home Movies.
Discuss!

I know almost nothing about the band but I bought White Pony on a whim and fucking love it. Then I bought Diamond Eyes which I thought was the universally loved one, but it seemed kind of nu-metal for my taste. Still enjoyed it, but is White Pony the furthest they went in that style/direction? It's like, shoegazey metal. Bad description, but it's just really great music.
Okay, so definitely check out:
All of Saturday Night Wrist
Most of Koi No Yokan, especially "Rosemary".
If you dig it, then maybe revisit Diamond Eyes, see if it grows on you.
If you love Chino's voice, but Deftones still isn't doing it for you, I cannot fucking recommend Palms enough!
-
Everything I've heard about this new album has me more excited than any past Deftones release. Hoping I can catch them live at some point in the next tour cycle.
-
I'm anxious to hear a single from Via Dolorosa.
Flenser posted like a 5-second clip of a new track on Instagram. Very short, but it reminded me of Kurdaitcha.

Looks like the tracklisting for new Mamaleek is up on Allmusic.
Glad to see it's longer than Mumblin' Word.

I'm very curious to hear this. I really love Insignificance and some of his other more pop-oriented stuff. Not as into the more experimental side, but there's no doubt just how talented he is.
Have you checked out The Visitor? Or Bad Timing? Those two really show off his instrumental/experimental side, but they don't get as "wild" as his drone/noise/neo-classical work.
At least we have each other. So excited for this
My man!
Jim O'Rourke is fucking awesome for all of the reasons you listed above.
Always loved those Loose Fur records too.
Loose Fur is also great. Always been partial to his work with Gastr del Sol, though. Listening to Camoufleur as we speak.
Ugh. Sooooo many amazing records coming out this year, but if this album lives up to Eureka/Insignificance, I can say with some certainty that it'll be my AOTY.

Am I alone in my Jim O'Rourke fanaticism? Never seen his name come up on here. Eureka is one of my all-time favorite albums, easily. Fucking phenomenal producer, and a very interesting songwriter.
Anyway, he's putting out his first album with vocals in more than a decade, and you should check it out.Rocks If You Like: Wilco/Jeff Tweedy, Sonic Youth, Gastr del Sol/David Grubbs, Will Oldham, pretty much anything else on Drag City.

Perhaps the tracks are lengthy enough to not fit reasonably in 2xLP without "squeezing" the grooves.
I did the math and guessed about where they'd likely split the sides. Longest would be side number 4, at around 21 minutes. Very doable.
So I wouldn't worry about having to shell out extra for a triple LP. I'm far more concerned about how it's going to sound. That GKMC pressing is pretty mediocre.
-
Didn't do the math but if we consider the whole thing, with the 2Pac end dialogues, are we looking at 3xLP set?
Album is 78 minutes long. I don't know how the bootleg is put together, but there's no reason the official press wouldn't fit on a 2xLP.

I hope I'm not the only person still listening to Valis.
Good god.
Couldn't stand it on first listen, but its insanity slowly grew on me. It'll probably wind up somewhere in my year-end list.
-
When should these be up to stream on Bandcamp?
-
I thought Moonlover was okay, but I guess I'm not feeling the hype like everyone else.
I didn't go nuts for Sunbather either, and I just can't imagine anyone liking one and not the other, or disliking one and not the other. But in the spirit of good-natured ribbing, maybe they should've advertised like this.
"Ghost Bath: For when you can't wait 6 months for that new Deafheaven record."
