  1. Yeah, just listened to mine yesterday and it sounded pretty good.
  2. Peace and Light is great, but I think the opener and closer of this EP are both their best songs hands down.
  3. I'm a fan of With Teeth. Don't really care to state my preference on one band or the other, they're both two of my favorites.
  4. NIN is considerably bigger than MM. Like, when MM came around Charlotte they played a 2,000 capacity venue while NIN played one almost exactly 10 times that, albeit with Soundgarden. As far as why most NIN albums haven't been re-pressed, I couldn't tell you. Maybe Interscope doesn't have interest in it, I dunno. I think they could make bank on them.
  5. I wish I had the money to be a TEN variant collector. Hell, I'm actually off to a good start with TRTC haha.
  6. Favorite will always and forever be Microcosm, that song has been basically my favorite Box song since I first heard the Pink Couch Sessions video. It's also Brian's lyrical masterpiece without a single doubt.
  7. I know they've been saying this for years, but I'm optimistic. Plus, it gives me a reason to not spend insane amounts of money on an OP of LCW, which I've been so close to doing a few times.
  8. This album would be basically perfect without The Drones, but even that song has grown on me a bit.
  9. Here's the deal, I plan on picking up one of the black re-presses TC just announced, so I don't really need this copy anymore. However, I'd love to trade it for either an MOV press or AFS press (long shot probably), so if you feel like that's a decent trade hit me up. If you wanna buy it outright, just shoot me an offer (not looking for much honestly). Lemme know!
  10. My Poet's Corner order came in on Thursday and it's clear, numbered 607, I believe. I think this pressing sounds absolutely great. Still feel bad that so many people got their order canceled.
  11. Good idea, the person I bought the amp from said he cleaned the amp thoroughly, but I wouldn't be surprised if that were the case.If it's the cable I'm sure I could work something out with the owner of the record store, maybe he could repair the cable or install new ones for (hopefully) cheap. Whatever it is, I don't want to give up this 'table, I'm incredibly smitten by it, it's pretty much perfect for me right now. Nice reel to reel, by the way. Edit: Okay, so I'm almost 100% sure it's the cables after switching them around. :\ I called the store and turns out the owner is in NY until next week so I won't know exactly what's gonna happen until then. Hoping he'll help me out at little cost since the table was so costly (for me) to begin with. We shall see.
  12. Thanks! Definitely want to do that as soon as possible, due to storage issues I'm probably gonna have to settle with isolation pads for a bit. I'll be getting my own place within the next year hopefully, so I'll get some stands then. However, I'm noticing an issue with my SL-1200's RCA cables... I noticed I accidentally had the integrated on mono and both speakers were playing just fine, but when I switched to stereo my right speaker was very quiet and crackly. I went and wiggled the red cable a bit and got it to work in a certain position, so I think it's shorted. I'm gonna try to take it to the store I bought it at and have them check it out, since there's nothing I've done that I can think of that would have damaged the cable since I purchased it. Hoping it's a cheap, easy fix.
  13. Well, I can finally say I have a decent setup now! Haha. I know it doesn't really touch most of the stuff in here but I am extremely happy with it overall. Turntable/integrated amp: Speakers (and TV and PS3 lol): Close up of integrated: For anyone who may be wondering: Turntable: Technics SL-1200mkII ($400 plus tax) Integrated: Kenwood KA-7100 ($135) Speakers: Yamaha NS-4s ($50) So about $615 after all is said and done. I'd say I actually made out really well.
  14. Damn, now I kinda feel like an ass for posting that. Truly just wanted Sam's original wishes/intent respected. I wonder if something fell through for this album as far as a label goes or something, because he said it won't be on Bandcamp, and he didn't respond to the physical release questions. Hmmm. I'd buy this bad boy on vinyl/cassette real quick. I personally think it's his best effort overall and totally trumps the last JB release.
  15. Oh damn, yeah. I mean, they're less of a mainstay than those bands, but I can't say I wouldn't pick up a re-press of TBP and 3 Cheers.
  16. When 2006 rolls around, I'll officially be feeling old. Basically when I started getting into a few bands that seriously affected my musical tastes for good.Brand New- The Devil and God The Matches- Decomposer Senses Fail- Still Searching Underoath- Define The Great Line The Killers- Sam's Town All of those were 2006, if I remember correctly and all of them were/are important as hell for me.
  17. Hope the next two years fly by so I can nab the inevitable "10th year anniversary" pressing of Still Searching. Cannot justify buying it at secondhand prices.
  18. Detailed sounds good to me. Gonna pick one up soon, I think.
  19. In all honesty, sometimes when I'm bored/tired at work I'll post shit half-thinking and not really realize how dumb my wording is. Combine that with the fact that I'm relatively new and clueless when it comes to this stuff and I come off pretty dumb sometimes. I liked that post though, it was funny, and seemed lighthearted, which is refreshing. I did, however re-read the thread and I think I should have prior to posting that, as I basically found my answer within the first few posts. I'll probably go with the AT.
  20. Not to be lame about this, but you should really consider taking this link down. This is a public forum after all, and Sam wanted it to be kept private among people who emailed him for it and promised not to leak it.
  21. How bright is the AT440mla exactly? Was thinking about getting it for my SL-1200, but I tend to favor a more relaxed high end. Piercing cymbals are a no-go for me.
  22. They've been updating their Facebook regarding this release. Last I heard they just approved the art, I believe, and signed all the booklets, and are about to listen to/hopefully approve of the test pressings. Let's just hope they're doing it on a good table, haha. I imagine we won't see these till at least September.
