  1. I've never even heard of this band but that's an awesome shirt omg
  2. Joyful noise has great customer service. I stopped receiving my flexi's for like 3 months last year (then I cancelled the subscription cause I was broke) and they sent me all of them plus a bunch of stickers, VIP exclusive cassette, Kishi bashi button and candy! plus all of their records are so beautiful.
  3. thank you! now I can do math and figure out how much I need. even though I doubt they will have everything I want. it's a short list though so fingers crossed!
  4. One of my friends (paralyticstalks) was talking about it a lot so I figured I should check it out and then I forgot about it for months after like 3 posts but now I am back.
  5. Does any one know what the prices will be for some of these? just so I can know what to expect?
  6. This is actually super helpful. I'm not an idiot and i've ordered probably hundreds of Lps but I've never mailed one before and it's good to know what people on here expect if anyone decides to buy something from me (hint hint) I've totally received 7"s in bubble mailers with cardboard on both sided? is that acceptable? I'm just curious I don't have any desire to part with mine.
  7. I'm assuming the high price is because they are picture discs. I've seen LPs there for around $15 recently but when I saw the breaking bad soundtrack picture disc it was $28 Picture discs are just usually more expensive i think or at least at hot topic. Also i remember going there in middle school and seeing records and being confused. not because I didn't know what a record was but because I didn't know they still made them at the time. (middle school was like 10+ years ago)
  8. NEED the little mermaid one and also aladdin and beauty and the beast assuming those will exist and OMG I'm mad you can't use hot cash on records though.
  9. Same. I bought 6 records the other day and i have at least that many coming to me in the mail plus 3 or 4 I realllllly want to buy I might have spent most of my tax returns on records and band shirts.
  10. I'm not saying any names yet because it just happened and they haven't responded but I just ordered two Tennis albums (Cape Dory, Small Sounds EP) from someone on Discogs. Both new and sealed and Cape Dory came with a huge bend in one corner and I know I can go out and buy a new copy wherever but I'm really annoyed and mad that they mailed it in a huge box with weird padding too instead of a LP mailer aka why it got super bent > not to mention it took forever to get here now I'm worried because I just ordered something else from them a few days ago, oops Hopefully they will be cool about it and refund me.
  11. I think someone already mentioned it but Bull City Records in Durham, NC is one of my favorites! He always gets really great used newer albums and sometimes there are free stuff AND he said that he will definitely have the 2 things I NEED on RSD so I'm really excited about that! Plus he is helpful when you ask about albums that you know nothing about . Plus there's a cool popsicle place two doors down which is a nice perk! so if you're ever in the triangle I'd suggest that one. I haven't been to schoolkids in forever but I think it's way more user friendly than the other record stores around here. Bull City Records 2600 Hillsborough Rd, Durham, NC 27705 (919) 286-9640 http://www.bullcityrecords.com/‎
  12. I just added a bunch of stuff
  13. I'm super stoked. I talked to the owner of my favorite record store and he said he got an email saying he will be getting multiple copies of both of Montreal releases so I'm also hoping to get the velvet underground and built to spill re issues and possibly the oracular spectacular reissue I always have horrible luck on rsd so hopefully I'll actually find what I want this year. I am not getting there 3 hours early though because I also like sleep
  14. Real name: Laura M. Favorite Bands: of Montreal, Built to Spill, Neutral Milk Hotel, Bright Eyes, The Olivia Tremor Control, Nana Grizol, David Bowie, St. Vincent, Brand New, The Velvet Underground, Talking Heads, Tennis, Los Campesinos! I'm not going to list all of them because I love so many bands but those are at the top of the list What's your Facebook/Twitter/Tumblr etc.?: Ask me if you want them? You'll probably be weirded out if you don't already know me so I'm not putting them here right now. Hobbies (outside of record collecting): Making art (sculpture, crafty things, etc) going to thrift stores, attempting to learn how to play guitar, drinking and hanging out with awesome friends and going to shows! Play in a band? Run a record label? Link us!: I freakin wish! Random things you want us to know about you: I love of Montreal too much and Kevin Barnes knows who I am I made my account forever ago and then forgot about it but now I'm back
  15. HI! dude that's super lame. they need to have a customer service rep like most labels who sell online do because that's really uncool.
  16. worst ever was track & field (in the uk) which I'm not sure if they even exist anymore but I ordered a record and then emailed them a month later asking what the dealio was because I had heard nothing and then they were like oh yeah we don't actually have this and I got my money back but it was still quite upsetting. Actually it wasn't that bad but it still took them a few months before people stopped being tricked by the same record. I've honestly have pretty good customer service with labels even when other people have horrible customer service. Best is def Polyvinyl Records because they even draw you a picture on the box if you ask and give you candy and sometimes free things! Also Captured tracks facebook says they are currently listening to every demo they have recieved so maybe that's why they haven't had time to respond?
