The "say hello to sunshine" cassette is an Indonesian release. Will pop on eBay every so often. It's legitimate though. Also legitimately fucking cool.

That's what I thought when I found the website. Stumbled on it last week looking for the DCFC transatlanticism cassette. It's the real deal. My order shipped in a day or so and came in the mail yesterday.

 

Even responded to my email about pressing info and availability.

I got the rarest variant. My buddy lovingly called it "Devil Pieces."

 

 

 

Been on a cassette kick recently and discovered this release last week while I was trying to find some relatively "new" cassettes. Was a little hesitant considering the home page on www.skrockirecords.com has not been updated since '09 but I ordered anyways thinking if the tape didn't show I'd file a claim or whatever. A few days later I got an email saying payment received my order had shipped.

 

Weirdly low key release considering the popularity of DCFC.I asked after the fact and he said it's limited to 1,000 and that he still has copies available. $10 straight up. No mention of shipping on the site.

 

Originally released in 2004 according to the Barsuk website DCFC discography page. It has fold out art and printed lyrics on the opposite side. Tiny vessels and Transatlanticism are separated from each other like the vinyl version as opposed to the fade in used on the CD.

My fear too. Ordered right when the preorder went live and got the CD before it came out.

A couple months is one thing, but seven months is another..

Sorry to hear this is the boat you're in. You should ask them on FB what the deal is for people who preordered originally and share the knowledge.

Who knows, maybe the band hasn't even considered this aspect yet and you will get the ball rolling for people who already ordered to be able to receive a copy.

I guarantee that there isn't just a preorder sale for it. Shouldn't freak out at all.

Same thought here. There is no way it's just sold out. From what their merch guy said it sounded like they would at least be getting some copies to tour with and (hopefully) some to sell online

A long shot, but if anyone has this, or if you see it being neglected in the basement of your local record shop, I'd like to have it.

It's not a matter of your opinion of the band, that's just how it's set up.

My opinion of the band is positive. Liked ANThology and UITA. But justifying the $50 buy-in for the vinyl as you broke it down seems silly. $25 for what will definitely be a 2XLP. Okay. I can get down with that. Digitial download for $25? Pfft.

That being said, I'll make sure I hit you up first when I'm trying to crowd-fund an album.

lol it happens. +1 for being accurate on everything else. pleased with mine also despite a few small missteps.

A couple things:

 

Definitely looks like whoever handled the vinyl when packaging put their hands on the grooves. On the jacket there is indentations on every fold, looks like the were meant to hold the 7"s but they never went through with it? Kind of takes away from the packaging a bit. On the foreward, The colored words Take Off (Green), Pants (Yellow), and Jacket (Red) doesn't match the rest of the albums theme where Take Off is Red and Jacket is Green. On the Take Off 7" a the end of Time To Break Up the first half second of Mother's Day plays before it gets cut off. The release is amazing, but not perfect, lol. BUT I am very glad I spent the $50 for it. The packaging and the extras are just great, the foreward was a great read, and it's definitely a nice thing to have.

Thats strange, try calling customer service and explaining this to them. I dont think this is sold out yet.

Yeah I'm sure it didnt sell out on me I ordered it before 8am the day it went up. Gotta send an e-mail when I get home. Customer service line seems swamped today I stayed on for 20 minutes without getting through.

Update: Apparently they had a mix-up yesterday and HAD the records but didnt know they had them? Anyone who had this cancelled from their order should call customer service, you can reorder by phone and have them provide the free shipping if you qualified for it originally.
