WAXWORKS RECORDS Official Mega-Thread
rooks replied to museummouth's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Nah. Seriously. I was refreshing the page all mornign and had my order done and the confirmation email received 2 minutes before the tweet even went out and I was #881. If anything I would say 850-1150 are safe. -

The full color fold out poster is where the price difference is. DW releases that have them suffer the same price bump. And later runs that don't have them are cheaper from what I have seen. -

It was a $9 bump from the last one. Last 1 was 1xLP but, 9 bucks is too much for 1 extra LP. I think we'll be pleasantly surprised. -

The Ambient & Experimental Thread

Hadn't heard of that either. Interesting. -
I agree with that - not a great example. Point I'm trying to make is if I want huge cinematics I will listen to Explosions in the Sky or Mogwai or Mono. Not Zimmer or whomever else. That's probably just me though - I think horror OSTs have a cool aesthetic that's not really captured in other genres.
-
Be honest, how often do you listen to the Drive soundtrack past side A? I mean, admittedly, I have, but the minimal sub-bass ambient sounds are nice for background pulse on a chill night but you can't really get absorbed listening to side BCD of Drive. Still, of the Mondo I own thus far, 1. Poltergeist 2. Maniac 3. Drive would be my rankings. Regardless, you're right we've got Waxwork and DW as backups for horror stuff. But, I'm more intrigued by how important a score is to a horror movie, and how that plays out as a standalone. I prefer Carpenter or other horror-staple scores to OSTs by guys like Zimmer where it's all dun-dun-dun-dun-dun-dun BRAAAAAAAHM. But maybe that's just me.

Hmm. Interesting. Not a HUGE fan of the remasters, but I guess that's what I should expect. Does the tracklisting not match that of the mixtapes? That could bother me. edit: I checked and the tracklisting doesn't match. Small qualm but it will annoy me to no end. Might have to hold off.
