It's a toss up. Quality has been going up with their releases... the subs usually sell for a decent amount of money in the aftermarket if you're interested in selling them someday. Most of the colored variants they release non-sub can be gotten around cost - still. So, it's a toss up. Definitely coolest vars, but, so expensive.

I am pretty sure that the black is the "standard" aka "retail" version. The blue/black split was subscriber, the blue was the "limited color variant" at some point there were some translucent reds that were sent out as a second "limited color variant" and the straight black was retail.

classic, I'd also be careful of "fanboy8" on ebay. Dude has been selling a blue copy of The Beyond for weeks with starting bids/BINs of $65-$85 USD plus shipping. Doesn't respond to messages, and the item has been re-listed at least 10-15 times in the past few weeks on 2-3 day auctions and has been sold 3+ times then relisted the next day. No idea what the deal is, if he is shill bidding his own auctions and winning them, or if he has 15 copies of the variant, but, beware.
