Why do YOU collect Vinyl?
Man Suits replied to toomanyrecords's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
Wow, I honestly didn't see this thread lasting for more than a couple of pages. -
Touche Amore "Is Survived By" LP coming 09.24.13
Man Suits replied to tre's topic in Vinyl Collective Message Board
I had a class ending at 9:30 last night. This means that I did not get home until 11:00. Then I had buttloads of homework to do (learning an ancient language and whatnot). Then, I had to get up at 5:00 for a 7:00 science lab. A total of 3 hours of sleep. Open my computer half awake to see the PO up. ^Best morning ever. -

Oh my.. -
I would love to get my hands on Touche Amore - Parting the Sea (Deathwish) I have been wanting to get my hands on this record for quite some time. That record actually means a lot to me. Hope I win.

Setting up Technics 1200
Man Suits replied to chils123's topic in Turntables & Other Audio Equipment
I've even heard some pretty convincing arguments saying that Anti-skate isn't even THAT necessary. But I just always use mine on the recommended setting. -
I might be interested. PM me with an estimate of what you would like for it.

Setting up Technics 1200

I actually hear that this isn't the best way to set anti-skate. Hopefully someone here can explain it more in depth. -
Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I have a pretty decently sized list to get me going with it.

It sounds fine to me, but my ear isn't the greatest.

Why do YOU collect Vinyl?

Because I like being poor. -
I know right. I couldn't stop thinking about that while listening to this thing the first time through. Like it is really too close, lol.
-
That's why I don't go to shows anymore. It's like stepping into a funeral parlor. Like I can get depressed on my own time without having to pay for it. And I'm sorry.. Every time I've seen NJ they were not the greatest. They're more of a studio band for me.
-
I picked up a copy of this from a local record shop the other day. To be honest. I wasn't super impressed by it. But NJ's releases almost always have to grow on me a bit. I'll listen to it a bit more and see what comes of it.

Small Talk Revival Thread
Man Suits replied to One Hundred Fifty-Two's topic in Everything Else Message Board
Maybe a tad off topic for what's being discussed at the moment, but I gotta get this out. So yeah... for the past year I've been out of the country for school/work and other stuff like that. I got so totally used to life over there, and I learned to love it. It became like my new home. But I had to come back in May and have been home ever since. Today was my first day of classes for my senior year in college. And holy crap. I feel so freaking overwhelmed right now. Being back home hasn't really hit me that hard up until this point. But today it hit me like a truck. Horrible day.- 169,220 replies

This is the only bump that I'll give this. Just want to be sure though.

I'm loving the recommendations guys!! It looks like I might have another genre addiction on my hands though.
-
I'm loving Desmond Dekker so far. Keep them coming if you think of anymore.

I'm looking for some good reggae music. I already know about Bob Marley of course. I'm just looking at getting into some good reggae music that was released about at the same time as Bob Marley. Like 70's or 80's stuff. Where is a good place to begin? Like what groups are absolute staples for the genre? Thanks.

In. Yet agin. Bound to win something.

I'm in.. again.
